Pick of the Plots: Tuesday 7th January

The latest goings on in EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

SoapWeek: EastEnders

Gray and Chantelle return from their honeymoon and with Chantelle not ready to take a pregnancy test, Gray leads her upstairs so they can try again for a baby. Later, Gray is forced to cover when Kat lets slip about the New Year’s party at his house. He’s further unimpressed when he sees Chantelle helping Jags home with his shopping. Later, Chantelle takes a pregnancy test but when it comes back negative, Gray is agitated by her attitude and grabs her wrist.

Meanwhile, Louise grows tired of the arguing as Ben vents about Sharon and takes Denny to the café. Louise is uncomfortable when Karen approaches her and her unease grows when Sharon arrives. Back at the Mitchells, Ben has some harsh words for Louise when she berates him for talking about Sharon again. Later, Jay reminds Billy of his loyalties and Karen is left disappointed by Billy’s actions.

Elsewhere, Whitney is shocked when she learns a new stallholder is joining the market – Leo. Jean is unenthused when Mo suggests a séance to speak to Daniel

SoapWeek: Emmerdale

Danny arrives to see Sarah and fakes being upset, telling her that he has been beaten up by the people he was holding the drugs for.

Meanwhile, a social worker talks Dawn through the next steps of gaining residency of Lucas. Dawn is thrilled when Lucas runs to hug her and is determined to get him back.

Elsewhere, Harriet is in silent turmoil as PC Swirling questions her and Will on the church burglary. Jacob is hurt when he finds out about Leyla kissing Liam.

Emmerdale, Tuesday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Goldie is shocked at her mum’s nastiness when Jack calls round while John Paul’s suspicions grow when he finds out that Breda still has the pig farm. He meets Mercedes in The Dog car park and tells her to go to the farm. Mercedes is horrified when she gets to the farm and finds Tony.

Bobby’s doll is in the Emporium window after being saved from the bin by Liberty. Liberty can’t believe it when Grace brings in a bag of Curtis’ toys including his Breda doll. Goldie tries to apologise to Jack for her mum’s behaviour earlier but he’s had enough. He gives Goldie his engagement ring and she notices the inscription on the inside ‘LL’ for Louis Loveday…

Meanwhile, John Paul is with Breda in The Dog flat having tea. It’s like a game of cat and mouse as they both try to get the measure of each other.

Elsewhere, Edward surprises Diane with an expensive necklace. Sami and Imran meet Verity – Edward’s daughter and Tony’s sister.

Hollyoaks, Tuesday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Helping the other prisoners with their ailments is enough to start gaining Jimmi favour inside the prison. Later, when he has a run in with a nasty inmate named Siggy, Leon comes to his rescue.

Back at The Mill, Zara continues to be ruthless with Ayesha, insisting on checking her prescriptions since she only recently qualified as a nurse prescriber. Al doubles down on his efforts to support Jimmi and floats the idea of a social media campaign as well as looking at potential grudge-bearers but Rob tells him to be wary about harming Jimmi’s case.

Meanwhile, Bear meets with a former girlfriend who Jimmi treated and asks her if she feels as though Jimmi was ever harsh with her. She doesn’t do much to fuel Bear’s doubts yet he is insistent on going to visit Jimmi in prison. What does he think he knows?
