This week in Summer Bay…

Monday:
Eden spills the good news to the band – she’s found them a place to live in Summer Bay. Even better, it’s only across the street from Tane & Felicity’s. The pressure of being Lyrik’s new lead singer is getting to Theo, who is crippled by nerves before their first gig. Unable to get onto Chloe, Theo begins to worry. What if she doesn’t show up to support him?
Pacing in his suit, with flowers arranged and champagne on ice, Cash is left waiting for Jasmine to arrive home. As time drags on, Cash looks at the proposal ring, wondering if he’s made a mistake. When Jasmine doesn’t answer any of Cash’s calls, Irene tries calling Jasmine’s in-laws to no avail.
A reluctant Ziggy has been dragged along to Theo’s first gig with Lyrik. Fearing that it’s a distraction from Theo’s apprenticeship, Ziggy is hardly supportive of Theo’s musical aspirations, and blames Justin for encouraging Theo to audition. Eden tries to make friendly small talk with a distracted Cash but is abruptly brushed aside. Learning that Jasmine has gone MIA on Cash, Eden feels for him. Fearing the worst, Cash announces that he’s going to report Jasmine as a missing person.
Tuesday: An indignant Ziggy corners Justin into a conversation about Theo’s future. How is Theo going to juggle band commitments and his apprenticeship?
As time drags on and Jasmine doesn’t show, Irene begins to worry. Cash quickly disintegrates into desperation. Cash is rattled when his request for a welfare check on Jasmine comes back all clear – she is fine and with her in-laws on their property. If Jasmine is safe and sound, why isn’t she answering Cash’s calls? And why didn’t she return to Summer Bay as promised?
Roo is overwhelmed by the possibilities of her newfound freedom. Now that Alf is running the caravan park & bait shop, the world is her oyster. But rather than feeling free, Roo is adrift, with no direction. Surely Roo can find a way to become a lady of leisure. But Roo can’t seem to find her own company enough. Reading the signs, Marilyn offers to keep a restless Roo company.
Wednesday: Leah is brimming over with enthusiasm for Theo and the band’s success. He’s a complete natural! Meanwhile, Justin is brooding – how is Theo going to juggle the demands of a touring band schedule plus his apprenticeship? Sitting Theo down for a talk, Justin puts it plainly – Theo must choose between his apprenticeship and Lyrik. Leah is defensive of Theo’s musical dreams, chastising Justin.
Taking the advice of his work counsellor, Xander begins training at the gym for his mental health. Supportive, Cash shows him the ropes – Xander’s never set foot in a gym before. Behind closed doors, Xander is still suffering debilitating anguish, haunted by traumatic memories of work. Xander is doing all the right things, but nothing helps. Falling back into his old coping strategy, Xander gets a spontaneous tattoo to alleviate his pain.
Marilyn & Alf are impressed at Roo’s newfound ability to relax. But is Roo’s relaxation all a front? When she can’t keep up the smiles any longer, Roo confesses to Marilyn – she’s bored out of her mind!
Broken-hearted after Jasmine’s rejection, Cash musters the strength to break the news to Xander about Jasmine’s decision to stay with her in-laws. Xander is outraged on Cash’s behalf – how can Jasmine do this without giving a reason? Cash deserves some answers. On a mission, Cash resolves to go confront Jasmine. A hurt Irene insists on accompanying Cash on the journey.
Thursday: Desperate for answers about Tex but finding no leads, Rose turns to Tane. What does he know about Tane that she doesn’t? Tex has suddenly quit his job and won’t answer Rose’s calls. Now her police instincts are firing. When Tex finally calls, Rose leaps at the opportunity.
Covering his absence, Tex claims he had ‘family issues’ to deal with. Rose plays coy, inviting him to her place later. But away from Tex, Rose runs a police check on his number plate, clearly suspicious of him…Bingo. Rose confronts Tex with the truth – she knows his real name is Leigh Wheeler and that he has bikie affiliations.
Trying to keep his suffering under wraps, Xander hides the tattoo paraphernalia from the night before. For Rose’s sake, Xander puts on a cheery facade. But it’s feeble – for how long can Xander keep up appearances?
The Bikies have gone silent and Tane worries that no news is bad news. Nikau is more optimistic – perhaps they’ve given up on laundering through the gym? A nervous Tane pushes the bikies for answers, unable to withstand the suspense. Too much free time is driving Roo nuts. Despite Marilyn’s helpful suggestions, Roo doesn’t want a simple hobby, she wants to make a difference in the world. Feeling for Roo, Alf suggests she go back to teaching – she loved that job.
Friday: Flabbergasted, Mackenzie hunts Dean down on the beach. Has Dean heard the news from Bella? Apparently, Nikau broke up with her and Bella is devastated. Protective, Dean confronts Nikau, dragging him off patrol. A defiant Nikau orders Dean to keep out of his business. A curious Mackenzie wonders what’s really going on between Nikau and Bella.
Relieved to get it off his chest, Tane reveals to Rose the bikie plot to launder money. Hungry for information on Tex’s bikie gang, Rose asks Tane for his phone. Maybe they can locate the headquarters where Tane was kidnapped? Tex brings an assertive ‘new employee’ to handle the gym’s books for the bikies: Genevieve. Unable to work with Tane breathing over her shoulder, Genevieve demands Tane leave her to it. Quickly, Tane is losing control of his own gym. Felicity is rudely greeted by a hostile Genevieve, but before Felicity can retaliate, Tane pulls her away. They need to keep their cool with the bikies.
Still burdened with the guilt of breaking up with Bella for her protection, Nikau is fuming. A provocative Tex taunts Nikau around the surf club, sending Nikau into attack mode.
A determined Rose calls Tane into the police station to discuss a strategy. She’s dug up some intel on Tex’s known associates and they’re dangerous. Rose can’t guarantee Tane’s safety if they pursue the gang, so how far is he willing to go to get rid of the bikies? Tane gives his assurance – he’ll do whatever it takes.
