Lenny is frustrated in River City

This week in Shieldinch…

MONDAY

A frustrated Lenny confesses feeling inadequate to Mulvaney who offers to help give Lydia justice; tensions mount between Roisin and Tommy over Andrew’s offer to save the boxing business; and there’s a spark of romance between Madonna and Dean.

Annoyed that Andrew is walking around Shieldinch a free man, Lenny admits to Mulvaney his frustrations about not being able to fix things for Lydia. Mulvaney admits he understands but reminds him that killing Andrew isn’t the answer – it’ll only make things worse for the Murdoch’s.
Instead, Mulvaney suggests Lenny outsources the murder and he’s the perfect man for the job.

Elsewhere, Roisin and Tommy’s romance hits a stumbling block when she discovers Andrew will be the new sponsor of the boxing gym. While Tommy sees it as nothing more than a business arrangement, Roisin thinks he’s being disloyal to Lydia. Tommy defends his decision – this is for the kids and not about taking sides.

As Dean enthusiastically cleans Bernie’s flat, Madonna watches on. When Madonna sets up her latest social media review for her followers, Dean is enthralled by her and tells her it’s clear she has star quality. Chuffed by his praise, Madonna happily spends time with Dean who is clearly smitten.

WEDNESDAY

With the result of her cancer treatment looming, Karen puts together a memory box for Jessie and Alex, just in case.

At the hospital, the consultant’s medical jargon causes confusion, adding to an already stressful situation. A stressed out Karen processes the news – she’s in remission.

Delighted, the family come together at The Tall Ship to celebrate the good news alongside Caitlin, Bernie and Suzie. However, as Karen processes her new lease of life, Alex is distracted by a call from Nicole.

Elsewhere, Lenny reluctantly realises Maggie is perhaps the one person who truly understands what Lydia is going through and accepts her support.

Under the guise of cleaning the Murdoch’s flat, Maggie goes to Lydia’s and sensitively broaches the subject of the assault and the emotional aftermath. Initially irked, Lydia pushes Maggie away but slowly softens to the idea of seeking professional help.

With Scarlett walking away from her family, Stevie feels overwhelmed at the demands of taking care of Callum and Madonna. Sensing Stevie’s frustrations, Sam suggests the teenagers are deliberately taking advantage of his good nature – it’s time he pushed back.
