Mickey and Minnie Mouse welcome celebs to The Disney Store for festive fun

Magical Star-Studded event at The Disney Store on Oxford Street sees Disney Christmas launched.

The festive season commenced with a sprinkle of magic today as Disney Store and shopDisney hosted an exclusive VIP event at The Disney Store on London’s famous Oxford Street. Families and children of all ages were treated to an enchanting experience as the festivities unfolded before the store’s official opening – with a host of celebrities and their families in attendance to kick off the holiday season in Disney’s signature style.

Famous Faces from the realms of television, fashion, and music, including Alex Jones, Sam Faiers, Binky Felstead, embraced the festive spirit by sporting Mickey ears and celebrating with their families. They were joined by Steph McGovern, Louise Roe, and Michelle Heaton who dived into the festivities, enjoying hot chocolate and taking part in the fun activities happening around the store.

Alex Jones reflected on her magical time at the event:

“Being here today at the Disney Store event has been an absolutely incredible experience. The magic, the lights, and the festive spirit are truly something special. The enthusiasm and joy in the air is infectious, and it’s heart-warming to see families and friends come together to celebrate the holiday season in such a magical way.”

The event sparkled with surprises as shopDisney unveiled their perfect holiday gifts for the whole family, featuring a new collection for Disney’s forthcoming blockbuster “Wish” and exclusive “Frozen” items, celebrating the franchise’s 10th anniversary. Also taking centre stage was Disney’s sparkling range of merry must-have festive essentials set to spread cheer this Christmas.

The Disney Choir enchanted the crowd with timeless carols and Disney’s hit songs, accompanied by special appearances from Christmas Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Goofy, and Pluto characters to greet the excited attendees. A dedicated “Frozen” area transported guests to the cherished world of Arendelle, complemented by a themed space celebrating Walt Disney Animation Studios’ forthcoming animated musical comedy, “Wish.”

Binky Felstead:

“I have just had the most amazing time at the Disney Store and shopDisney event – it truly got me into the Christmas spirit! My favourite part of the morning was seeing the kids’ joy when they met the Disney characters. It was heart-warming to see the magic of Disney come alive for them, reminding me of the joy that the holiday season brings to all of us.”

Attendees also had the chance to enjoy surprises and sample delicious hot chocolate to infuse the festive spirit. The event was topped off by a variety of fun activities and entertainment, keeping the little ones enthralled throughout the morning.

Sam Faiers:

“Attending the Disney Store and shopDisney event was like stepping into a winter wonderland filled with magic and joy. It was the perfect way to kickstart the festive season. The highlight for my family and me was the Disney Choir singing carols and Disney songs. It made us feel so warm and joyful and captured the true spirit of Christmas perfectly. It was a moment we’ll always treasure. The festive treats and holiday-themed goodies made the day even more special. When it comes to getting the festive season started, no one knows how to do it quite like Disney does!”

As part of the celebrations, The Disney Store transformed into a treasure trove of brand-new festive product collections and exclusive “Frozen” product lines, marking the 10th anniversary of the beloved franchise. The event proudly supported the remarkable charity, Make-A-Wish, echoing the spirit of giving and goodwill that defines this time of the year.

To celebrate the release of Disney’s “Wish” and the launch of the Wish collection at shopDisney, Disney is donating USD $300,000 to Make-A-Wish International and its affiliates to help grant more life-changing wishes for children living with critical illnesses around the world.

Rob Wypyski, acting senior marketing manager, UK & EMEA, shopDisney and The Disney Store:
