BBC Newsnight win ‘Ultimate News Quiz Champions’ 2024
BBC Newsnight have clinched the title of The Ultimate News Quiz champions 2024 competing with strong runners up Good Morning Britain and IPSOS…
The triumphant winners claimed the victory on Thursday (29 February), at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London. The event, sponsored by the Premier League, was in aid of the UK’s leading children’s charity, Action for Children.

This year’s star-studded event saw other well-known faces competing to win including Talk TV’s Vanessa Feltz, ITV News’ Charlene White, Loose Women’s Jane Moore, Sky News’ Kay Burley, LBC’s Nick Ferrari, ITV’s Rob Rinder, ITV News’ Lucrezia Millarini, 5 News’ Dan Walker, BBC’s Richard Osman, LBC’s Andrew Marr and BBC News’ Maryam Moshiri.
As well as the leading news organisations, also, in attendance were leading corporate giants including Netflix, Sony and Google battling it out, all for a good cause. The night also included an auction including coveted box tickets to Taylor Swift’s sold-out The Eras Tour which were won by one lucky bidder.

The annual event raised a record-breaking £270,000 for Action for Children, which supports vulnerable children and young people across the UK, helping to give more children a safe and happy childhood. With 426 services across the UK, in schools and online, in 2022/23 the organisation helped 765,905 children, young people and families.
The Ultimate News Quiz is one of London’s most popular annual charity events, attracting an incredibly influential and star-studded guest list. Now in its seventeenth year, the current affairs quiz sees well-known TV and news guests battle it out alongside other familiar faces and leading corporates for the coveted prize of a modest tin cup.
