Radio team up for hospital broadcasting awards…

HBS Chairman Niall Anderson:

“Being shortlisted is a great testament to the team who continue to produce such high-quality programmes and really demonstrates the focus on providing the best we can for our listeners”

The UK Hospital Radio Awards have shortlisted programmes produced and presented by volunteers at Glasgow’s Hospital Broadcasting Service in four categories in the 2024 nominations. For the second year in a row, Hannah Sweeney, Chiara Marchetti and Val Ferrari who are the team behind the Tuesday evening request show are up for the award for ‘The Show with Multiple Presenters’

Emily Page, who took the silver gong in the ‘Best Newcomer’ category last year, is up for ‘Best Female Presenter’ in this year’s event while ‘Flora Csizamadia’s Hobby Hour’, which offers ideas for patients looking for local groups that can help recovery, is also in contention for the ‘Best Speech Package’ award.

HBS Glasgow broadcasting stalwart Robert Craw is nominated in the ‘Best Male Presenter’ category.

Radio presenter Robert Craw:

“I am delighted to be nominated as Best Male Presenter. It’s a pleasure to present music and chat to patients and other listeners.  Hopefully they enjoy it as well.”
