Hollyoaks flashes back into ‘missing year’

Having jumped a year ahead last September the saga now flashes back into the void between then and now…

Hollyoaks is set to journey back to the missing year for a special episode coming this Spring, centred around Mercedes (Jen Metcalfe), Joel (Rory Douglas-Speed) and Leela (Kirsty-Leigh Porter).

In September 2024, Hollyoaks skipped through four seasons and the details surrounding the challenges that villagers faced during that time were kept under wraps. However, for the first time this Spring, the E4 and Channel 4 Streaming serial will journey back to the missing year for a special episode showing Mercedes’ Bowel Cancer diagnosis and Joel’s relapse.

Before the time jump, the walls closed in on an injured Warren when a showdown with vigilante Blue left him no choice but to leave Mercedes and the twins and go on the run with a bag full of cash.

Talking about his upcoming appearance, Jamie Lomas said “There’s a lot the fans don’t know about the missing year and I’m excited to be a part of the special episode. I always love coming back home to Hollyoaks.”
