No 6am iPlayer episode for EastEnders this Monday

The Beeb have announced the usual 6am episode drop for ‘Enders won’t be happening this coming Monday…

On Monday 16th June, EastEnders will simulcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 7.30 pm, as the first episode fully overseen by the Walford based saga’s new Executive Producer Ben Wadey airs.

Ben Wadey, EastEnders Executive Producer:

“Next week marks the start of something big in Walford that we hope will get everyone talking, and it’s only just the beginning.” 

It isn’t the first time the serial has been held back from its 6am early morning streaming offering including during the 40th anniversary week earlier this year and for big surprises like the return of Michelle Collins as Cindy Beale.

Recent EastEnders has seen it return to the ‘Kat and Alfie’ show

The transition period from Chris Clenshaw, the outgoing exec, has seen the focus shift onto characters Alfie and Kat (Shane Richie and Jessie Wallace) and a number of old characters announced as returning including Max (Jake Wood), Ben (Max Bowden) and Zoe (Michelle Ryan).

The forthcoming plots also appear to see The Queen Vic, fresh from reopening after its February inferno, possibly changing hands with The Knight and Carter family looking likely to be leaving the pub. A tabloid newspaper suggests Kat maybe returning as the landlady of the boozer that she previously took charge of fifteen years ago.
