The character’s death was confirmed by the BBC last month who state that the plot won’t play out as a ‘typical whodunit’ and instead will be rooted in a ’raw and emotional’ reality.
The Mirror reports that the marketing campaign will include every member of the cast and that viewers will have no idea which of Albert Square’s residents are responsible for Lucy’s death.
“Just about everyone who lives there is a suspect and we are going to use every single cast member in the marketing campaign, which is the biggest we’ve ever done.
“EastEnders is back to its best and we want everyone to know about it.”
– BBC Drama boss, Ben Stephenson
The shock plot is the brainchild of Executive Producer, Dominic Treadwell-Collins, who has been carefully crafting Lucy’s demise since taking up office in August last year.
Lucy is one of EastEnders‘ longest running characters with viewers following the character since her birth on 9th December 1993.
EastEnders airs Monday (8.00pm), Tuesday (7.30pm), Thursday (7.30pm) and Friday (8.00pm) on BBC One.
