Lamb Football for Easter Premier League fixtures forecasting
Lamb footballers Danny Woolbeck, Bleatr Cech, Dembaa Baa take to the pitch for NOW TV to predict the outcome of Easter Premier League fixtures.
A flock of spring lambs from West Sussex were today on ‘sheep’-shape form as they took part in the world’s first ever game of ‘lamb football’. Organised by NOW TV, the game saw six teams of new-born lambs go hoof-to-hoof to predict the outcome of Premier League matches available on the service this Easter. Chelsea, Liverpool and Everton emerged to be the likely victors against Sunderland, Norwich City and Manchester United.
Taking place at their home turf in Hassocks, West Sussex, the lambs were kitted out in miniature hand-made strips and guided by sheepdog managers, with the winning team for each match decided by the first to get all players across the goal line and into the back of the net.
All captured on ‘lamb-cam’ under the expert watch of pundit Chris Kamara, sports fans can watch the lambs battle below thanks to the NOW TV YouTube channel, or on Facebook. The teams battled it out in a series of dramatic face-offs. The first clash between Chelsea and Sunderland saw the Blues on top form, with Dembaa Baa leading his players to the back of the net with ease. Norwich City and Liverpool were up next, in a match that saw Ricky Van Woolswinkel and Steven Gerraaard expertly dominate the match, but the ‘shear’ determination of the Anfield side paid off in the end.
The final match saw a close shave between Everton and Manchester United, with the Lambchester Ewenited lambs, as they were dubbed, sheepish in defeat following a last minute surge down the pitch from the Toffees.
