Former Crossroads and The Bill actress Rhea Bailey is joining ITV saga Coronation Street.
Rhea has landed the role of Caz – the soldier fiancée of Kate Connor played by Faye Brookes in the Salford set serial. The actress who made her television acting debut in ITV Granada’s Children’s Ward has spent the last four years living in Los Angeles.

As well as her role as Emma in Children’s Ward Rhea spent two years at the Crossroads as café waitress Chloe Simms, but is best known for her long running portrayal of PC Mel Ryder in ITV’s cop drama The Bill. Other appearances include BBC One soap Doctors, and ITV’s drama Blue Murder.
ITV Granada have confirmed that the actress filmed her first scenes earlier today and will be on screen in November when Caz arrives in Weatherfield for Kate’s birthday and to set the date for their wedding.
