Jimmy Bullard to present sports series for London Live

London Live 2015

London Live, the capital’s TV channel, has announced that it has commissioned a twice weekly, one hour live sports series that will air Monday and Friday nights at 7pm from Friday 16th October 2015, strengthening its sports news and current affairs portfolio.

“’I am a massive fan of London Live as the whole feel of the channel is right up my street. When I heard about this opportunity to come and present for them I knew it was something I couldn’t turn down as it is a natural progression for my career. I have always been a fan of live off-the-cuff shows so you better get ready for the Bulldog, cos with me involved it’s all going to kick off.” – Jimmy Bullard

Jimmy Bullard Kicks Off will be hosted by former professional footballer, pro-golfer and bestselling author Jimmy Bullard and TV presenter and journalist Kiri Bloore. Jimmy Bullard Kicks Off will largely focus on football, and will look back and ahead at upcoming games, leagues and sporting events across London. Viewers can expect a lively panel discussion, featuring notable sports journalists and celebrity sports personalities, with game analysis, sports news updates and light-hearted irreverent features. The show will give a voice and platform for fans of all clubs across the capital to interact with journalists, celebrities, bloggers and sportspeople, all live on air.

Over the last six months London Live has upgraded its approach to covering sport in the capital, and has significantly increased its live output covering boxing events such as Live from London: ABA Boxing (elite championships), Live from London: Haringey Box Club the Final (amateur boxing), London v South: Women’s Boxing and its most recent announcement London Live Fight Night series, due to air from 2nd October.

These live sporting events and the recent acquisitions of Red Bull Air Race World Championships 2015/2014 and the Red Bull Soap Box Race 2015 have resonated extremely well with the channels consistently growing audience.

The 60-minute series Jimmy Bullard Kicks Off will be created and produced in-house by the London Live team, and will initially broadcast live until the end of the year.

“London Live is proud to deliver 38.5 of news and current affairs every week and we are looking forward to extending our sports coverage with a show covering London Clubs and sports.  This further demonstrates our commitment to producing live London-centric content, and continues our increasing focus on sport alongside London Live Fight Night.” – Jim Grice, Head of News and Current Affairs
