ESPN appoint UK Advertising Sales Director

ESPN have appointed former Guardian Head of Client Sales, Sam Coleman, as Advertising Sales Director within the UK.

Coleman will be responsible for leading the company’s UK team servicing ESPN’s strong digital portfolio including ESPN.co.uk, ESPNcricinfo and ESPN FC. He will be based at the sport content company’s offices in London and report to EMEA Group Director of Advertising Sales, Alan Fagan.

The former Head of Client Sales for the Guardian News and Media has over 13 years’ experience in the industry, playing an instrumental part in the launch of Guardian Sport. Prior to the Guardian, Coleman worked as the Communications Director at MEC (London & Sydney) as well as being a key figure at Yahoo London. Coleman’s arrival comes after the re-launch of ESPN.co.uk as a leading responsive multi-sport site in 2015, as well as the introduction of Personalisation set to follow in early 2016.

Coleman’s remit will also include leveraging ESPN’s recent acquisition of digital rights for International Cricket Council (ICC) events through to 2019 including in-progress, pre-match and post-match highlights of the ICC World T20 India 2016, ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 and ICC Women’s World Cup 2017.
