Hollyoaks have announced that actress Haiesha Mistry has joined the cast of the Channel 4 programme.
“I’m so excited to be joining Hollyoaks as this is my first television credit. I’m looking forward to portraying my new character Yasmine (or Yas to her mates) as she is loud and flamboyant. She swaggers through school acting like the coolest of the cool kids – but it’s all just bravado.” – Haiesha Mistry
Young actress, Haiesha joins teens at Hollyoaks High as new character, Yasmine. Haiesha’s acting career has mostly been on stage including: Climate of Fear, Mr and Mrs Khan, Michael Rosen’s Bear Hunt Chocolate Cake and Bad Things Interactive Experience.
She also featured in the short film; Crossed Wires. Her role as Yasmine will be her first television production credit. Yasmine first embarks on to the village and causes a stir with Peri when she begins posting about The Lomaxe’s online. But Peri decides to play Yasmine at her own game.
In other recent casting news the Channel 4 soap opera signed up former Coronation Street and Shortland Street actor Adam Rickitt. The performer, and singer, will play Kyle in the North West based saga production company Lime Pictures announced earlier this month. The character will arrive in the village as Nancy Osborne’s ex-boyfriend. Nancy is played by former Crossroads star Jessica Fox.
“I also love working alongside the amazing cast and crew at Hollyoaks.” – Haiesha Mistry
Haiesha will first appear on screens at the beginning of April. Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with a first-look screening on E4 at 7 o’clock.
