Pick of the Plots: Tuesday June 6th

SoapWorld takes a look at the latest goings on in River City, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors this Tuesday.

SoapWeek: River City

Annie grows increasingly concerned about Frankie’s dubious relationship with Rick. Knowing he’s using her niece to barter for the return of Faith, Annie’s horrified to see Frankie’s new tattoo branding her one of Rick’s girls. Alex tries to negotiate with Rick while Annie approaches Lenny for his intervention. The Murdochs put on a united front with Frankie’s emotions sacrificed in the process. 

Angus and Kim struggle to keep their night of intimacy hidden from their loved ones. Cassie senses their awkwardness and jumps to the wrong conclusion, assuming Angus is hiding the severity of his illness. Cassie dupes Kim into a meeting, pleading with her to reveal what’s going on but there’s a heart-breaking confession in store. 

Elsewhere, Caitlin tries to call time on her relationship with Pete but he makes it difficult for her; Ellie gives Caitlin a hard time for turning her back on their mother, Maggie.

River City, Tuesday at 8pm on BBC One Scotland.


SoapWeek: EastEnders

Denise bites the bullet and invites Kush out for a drink much to Carmel’s chagrin. At the Vic Denise explains her recent behaviour and apologises but will it be enough to win Kush round? 

Louise tries to ignore Madison and Alexandra’s warning about Travis but it wrestles its way to the fore of her mind when Travis moves in for a snog. 

Elsewhere, Lauren opens up to Stacey; and Michelle awaits a call from estranged hubby Tim to discuss their divorce.

EastEnders, Tuesday at 7.30pm on BBC One. Repeated at 10pm on UKTV channel ‘W’.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

There’s tomfoolery at the factory when Nicola’s phobia becomes public knowledge. A prank soon goes too far and Nicola is sacked for slating Jai. She blames the ever-henpecked Jimmy who takes to drowning his sorrows at the Woolpack, where he becomes loose lipped about the fire at The Mill.

Finn decides becoming an escort is the answer to the Barton’s’ financial blackhole. Meanwhile Emma attempts to get back some rent money by playing the grieving widow to the landlord of Wylie’s farm. Later, Finn reveals to Leyla he blew all the money in Australia but will she keep his secret?

Emmerdale, Tuesday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Adam and Maxine are shocked to be greeted by a loved-up Darcy and Jesse smooching on the sofa upon their return home. However, they are distracted when Minnie starts walking. Later, Maxine freaks out when she finds Toby standing over Minnie who is struggling to get up.

Yasmine asks Esther for some part time work, just as her sister Farrah turns up on the back of a motor bike. Esther takes Kim to the hospital and encourages her to get some proper help, before giving back her wedding ring – this is the end for them. However, when Kim turns up for her appointment she’s welcomed by Farrah and Kim likes what she sees.

Elsewhere, Warren confronts Grace over her involvement in their hostage situation; Harry is given an ultimatum.

Hollyoaks, Tuesday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Rob visits Ellen, a foster carer who specialises in heroin babies. Rob makes out Karen has issues which are compromising Marnie’s care. Ellen offers to take on Marnie herself so Rob heads off to see Jane the social worker where he continues his porky-pies about Karen. Jane agrees that Marnie should be reallocated, but Rob is horrified when she calls Karen and leaves a message.

Later, Rob waits for social services to collect Marnie when Karen comes home for lunch. He checks that she hasn’t called Jane back. Soon, Jane arrives at the house and is quietly warned by Rob that he hasn’t had chance to talk to Karen yet. Jane approaches the situation calmly but will Karen smell a rat?

Elsewhere, Emma reaches out to a vulnerable woman.

Doctors, Tuesday at 1.45pm on BBC One.
