BBC Sport announce Winter Olympics coverage
BBC Sport has announced the beeb’s coverage of the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Games, which begin in February.
Clare Balding will be one of the lead presenters for BBC Sport
As British hopefuls take to the slopes and arenas in South Korea, the BBC will capture the biggest moments of the Winter Games, airing across network TV, radio and digital channels. A stellar line up of presenters and pundits will provide audiences with the best analysis, insight, news and highlights, in a mix of live and on demand coverage delivered to audiences wherever and whenever they want it. – BBC Sport
Daily coverage from midnight until 8pm across BBC One and BBC Two for the 17 day duration of the Winter Games.
Leading the TV coverage will be Clare Balding and Hazel Irvine, joined by Eilidh Barbour and Radzi Chinyanganya, bringing all of the action direct to fans from Pyeongchang. They’ll be joined by a host of world class Winter sports athletes providing expert commentary, including 2010 skeleton gold medallist Amy Williams, ice skating gold medallist Robin Cousins, and former Olympians Graham Bell, Chemmy Alcott and Jenny Jones.
TV coverage starts with Clare Balding’s Road To The Winter Games on BBC Two on the 8th of February, followed by coverage of the opening ceremony on BBC One the following day.
Eleanor Oldroyd and Rob Hatch will present all the main events and races live across BBC Radio 5 Live’s daytime schedules. The breakfast programme will be the first to bring listeners overnight key activity from Pyeongchang, and the duo’s running commentary live on location throughout the day will follow our hopefuls, reporting on all of Team GB’s medal moments. BBC Sport online will also live stream all the key moments of the Winter Olympics accessible at any time via the corporation’s website.
