Pick of the Plots: Tuesday September 18th

The latest goings on in River City, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

SoapWeek: River City

Trapped in the construction offices after the explosion, with the police gathering outside, Theresa tries to escape while an injured Scarlett lies unconscious. As Scarlett awakens, she shouts for help which angers Theresa – she won’t go back to jail. However, danger grows for the estranged sisters when Scarlett realises another explosion is imminent and they need to escape before it’s too late.  Putting hostilities aside, they face a race against time but for one O’Hara sister, forgiveness comes at a price.

Meanwhile, Lenny and Alex rush to Lydia who lies gravely injured, as Maggie and Kim help stabilise her. As the ambulance takes Lydia to hospital, Maggie tells Lenny she fears this is karma for the attack on Lockie.  At the hospital, Lydia is taken away for life-saving treatment. Guilt ridden, Lenny thinks he’s being punished for killing an innocent man and decides to repent his sins to the police, much to Alex’s horror. However, there’s a shock in store for Lenny.

The trauma of the day takes its toll on Lou who collapses. Panicking, Angus contacts a long lost relative to come to her aid – her brother, Logan Caplan. His arrival proves unsettling for Lou and Logan makes a bad first impression on Danny when he unwittingly spoils his big proposal to Jules.

River City, Tuesday at 8pm on BBC One Scotland.

Meanwhile, Carmel is still determined to help Sophie, insisting she reads her letter to Bruno’s lawyer to help reduce his sentence. Later, Kush returns home and breaks down over everything that’s happened.

Elsewhere, Stacey goes to the E20 to find out who’s been mysteriously messaging her and is met by a blast from her past – Ruby. Hayley also sees a blast from the past in the form of her mum Bev.

EastEnders, Tuesday at 7.30pm on BBC One.

Doctors Pick of the Plots logo

Mrs Tembe holds a meeting with Daniel and Zara – they discuss the estimate for the Minor Surgery Unit and then move onto the subject of Sutton Vale and their expansion. Mrs Tembe is not looking forward to seeing the odious Mr Jeremy Smail at a Practice Managers Meeting later. At the meeting, Mrs Smail clearly enjoys winding Mrs Tembe up – subtly teasing her about losing a Partner and their IT problems.

When she returns to the Mill, Mrs Tembe is horrified when Ruhma shows Smail’s Blog in which he misrepresents everything she said to paint the Mill in a bad light. However, Mr Smail is unrepentant and later warns Mrs Tembe that there is a revolution in General Practice coming which small practices like the Mill won’t survive.

Doctors, Tuesday at 1.45pm on BBC One.
