Pick of the Plots: Friday November 30th

The latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

SoapWeek: Corrie

Kate stuns Rana by bursting into the medical centre and suggesting that they should adopt a baby instead. Ordered away by Rana, Kate drowns her sorrows, drunkenly suggesting to Robert that he could father a baby for them. Robert tells Kate her idea is crazy and sends her packing. But will he change his mind?

Meanwhile, Evelyn begrudgingly agrees to babysit for Fiz and Tyrone, but she doesn’t get on very well with Hope, telling Rita that Ruby is her favourite. Fiz and Tyrone are shocked when they return to find Evelyn threatening Hope. Tyrone tells Evelyn she has gone too far this time and must move out. However, when Evelyn points out that she’ll have to go somewhere dog friendly, Fiz suspects she’s playing for time.

Elsewhere Gina lies to Sally that Tim doesn’t want to talk to her, and tries to put Sophie off talking him round. Sophie talks to Tim anyway who’s confused by Sally’s desperation to talk to him as Gina told him quite the opposite. Later, Tim decides it’s time to face Sally but Gina puts Sally off the idea.

Also, Kevin is moved to tears when Jack tries his new prosthetic leg; Rita is glad to be back at the Kabin.

Coronation Street, Friday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, UTV and STV.


SoapWeek: EastEnders

It’s Hayley’s birthday and despite the tensions in the house, Jean is determined to make it special for her. Jean is disappointed by Hayley’s lack of enthusiasm when she presents her with a birthday card. However, undeterred, Jean decides to throw a surprise party for her.

Later, as Hayley arrives, she’s horrified at the surprise and quickly leaves with Kat hot on her heels. After speaking to Kat, Jean realises just how much she’s hurting and missing her boys, but as Kat paints on a smile the doorbell rings – it’s Alfie.

Elsewhere, Whitney checks in on Ruby and they have a heart-to-heart.

EastEnders, Friday at 8pm on BBC One.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

Maya overhears Jacob asking Liv to go to the pictures with him, and Jacob becomes angry when David offers him relationship advice. David’s puzzled by his behaviour but it is obvious Maya knows exactly what’s up with Jacob. Alone with Jacob, Maya urges him to stop taking things out on his dad.

Meanwhile, Charity takes offence when Vanessa remarks on her parenting skills and is downbeat to think she’s a terrible mum. Vanessa makes her feel better as she recounts all the times that she’s got it wrong too. Vanessa happily agrees when Charity moots the idea of them living together and they’re excited to start looking for a place together.

Elsewhere, Leanna dares Noah to steal a bottle of vodka.

Emmerdale, Friday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Imran is being questioned by police with Sami there for legal support. The police don’t prosecute, but tell Imran they would like him to start a residential course. Ste confronts the Malik’s as they say their goodbyes to Imran, but Misbah sticks up for her son.

Meanwhile, Darren has filed for full custody, and Kyle vows to find Nancy the best lawyer ever… he hires James, who advises her to stop Darren seeing the children altogether. Darren wants an expensive lawyer, but Mandy wants peace.

Elsewhere, Diane confronts Laurie who puts his shifty business down to getting Sinead an eternity ring. Diane insists on joining him.

Hollyoaks, Friday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Sid excitedly shows Daniel a poster for a table tennis competition but neither Daniel nor Al are keen on taking part. At lunch time, the table is set up and Sid’s raring to go. But Valerie makes a feeble excuse about needing to buy wrapping paper, and Ayesha doesn’t fancy it either. Karen says she’s game, but as the others filter off, Sid is left deflated. Valerie, feeling for Sid, decides to get involved after all, while Ayesha grabs a bat after being challenged to prove herself.

Later, Al takes a deep breath and gets behind the wheel, repeating the advice Jimmi gave him last night. He goes to start the engine, but then bottles it. He climbs out and calls a cab as he lights up his first fag since giving up.

Meanwhile, Izzie vents her fury at Zara after she raises concerns about her attending a sleepover, causing Daniel to rescind his permission. Zara is struggling – will she be able to cope?  

Doctors, Friday at 1.45pm on BBC One.
