Paramount+ bring Little Disasters this May

Paramount+ has released the official trailer for UK original psychological thriller Little Disasters…

Starring Diane Kruger and Jo Joyner the series will premiere as a box set exclusively on Paramount+ UK & Ireland on Thursday, 22nd May.

An adaptation of the hit novel of the same name from bestselling author Sarah Vaughan the production is a complex psychological thriller with a mystery at its heart. Taut and propulsive, the series centres on the friendship between Jess (Kruger), Liz (Joyner), Mel (Emily Taaffe) and Charlotte (Shelley Conn), four expectant mothers who met ten years prior in an antenatal class, with little in common apart from their due dates.

They have since formed lasting friendships and supported each other through motherhood, until now.

The world of seemingly perfect stay-at-home mother Jess begins to unravel when she brings her baby daughter Betsy to the hospital with a head injury she can’t explain. Her close friend and on-duty A&E doctor, Liz, must make the excruciating decision of whether to call social services.

The new trailer propels audiences into the heart of the drama, where the consequences of Liz’s decision to report Jess to social services sets a chain of events in motion, rippling, fracturing and nearly destroying not only their families but their entire friendship group.

Plunged into the mystery, the threat of police and social services hangs over Jess and her workaholic husband, Ed (JJ Feild), pushing them to their limits as their perfect life crumbles around them.

Also seen in the trailer are Shelley Conn, Emily Taaffe, Ben Bailey-Smith, Patrick Baladi and Stephen Campbell Moore as they deal with the fallout and their close friendship shatters, revealing judgments and prejudice as everyone questions what really happened to Betsy.

Little Disasters is produced by Roughcut Television in association with Fremantle, who are also handling global sales. Ruth Fowler and Amanda Duke adapted the series for the screen with Roughcut Television executive producers Ash Atalla, Alex Smith and Marianna Abbotts on board alongside Sarah Vaughan.

Simon Judd executive produces for Fremantle, Eva Sigurdardottir is the director, and Myf Hopkins serves as the producer. The series was commissioned by Sebastian Cardwell, Deputy Chief Content Officer, UK, and Paul Testar, Commissioning Editor for Paramount+.
