Gary Windass revelation for Coronation Street

Another grim storyline from The Street…

A shocking twist is about to unfold on Coronation Street revealing Gary Windass, who has seemingly disappeared, is actually in a coma fighting for his life at Weatherfield General.

The mystery began when Gary left town, supposedly to stay with his mother amidst Lou’s manipulative blackmail. However, when he failed to return for Liam’s birthday, Maria became increasingly worried and began desperately searching for him.

In tomorrow’s episode (June 27th 2025) which will be released on ITVX/STV Player at 7am viewers will see Gary lying unconscious in a hospital bed with his friends and family unaware of this dramatic development.

Maria’s concern escalates when she reports Gary as a missing person to Kit and learns about an unidentified coma patient. Despite Kit’s initial assurance that it isn’t Gary, we learn the extent his attacker is taking to cover their tracks by changing his name and fraudulently claiming to be his next of kin.

As Gary remains in critical condition, the investigation into the incident continues. Upcoming episodes will delve deeper into the events that led to his hospitalisation, uncovering secrets and revealing the identity of those involved.

Samia Longchambon:

“Maria and Gary are going through a bit of a rough patch at the minute and initially she’s upset that he’s left but doesn’t think too much into it. As soon as Gary misses Liam’s birthday, she has a gut feeling that something isn’t right and fears something awful might have happened to him.

“Maria’s mind is spiralling, but she doesn’t stop for a second to think who actually attacked Gary, she’s aware he has a lot of enemies from over the years who could have potentially wanted to take revenge on him.”

This latest plot is one in a recent run of miserable storylines from the creatives at the Salford based saga.
