The classic ATV Today reports ends our week in 1970 with a visit to BBC Radio Stoke on July 6th.

Two years after the radio offering from Aunty Beeb opened John Swallow looks at how the local station in Stoke on Trent has been received by the public. The report features a look at some of the facilities at the BBC studios as well as interviews with a local lady who turns to the station via Rediffusion Cable TV, a manager from the station about the success of the offering. John also speaks with a local councillor about the funding of the station. Local residents in a housing estate share their views.

While a member of the public is in favour of commercial stations and not Beeb radio that is subsidised by local authority rates.
