Coronation Street pulled in 11 million viewers last night as Gail Platt once again tied the knot in another ill-fated romance.
Coronation Street enjoyed strong ratings last night for its double bill of episodes which saw unlucky in love, and marriage, Gail Platt tie the knot once again. The 7.30 instalment of the ITV soap was seen by 10.8 million viewers while the 8.30 hit 11 million viewers. Emmerdale couldn’t quite continue Thursday’s strong performance when it broke the 9 million mark but its 8.2 million figure is still an impressive figure for the soap.
Over on BBC One and the Mitchell’s interrogation of new arrival Glenda in EastEnders was seen by 10.8 million viewers while the BBC Three repeat at 10pm attracted just over 600,000 viewers giving a combined audience once again of over 11 million viewers. Earlier in the day at medical soap Doctors enjoyed 2.1 million viewers ending a week when the Birmingham produced soap topped 2 million viewers for the first time in a year.
