BBC Sport reveal Snooker World Championship coverage details

Live coverage of this year’s Snooker World Championship begins on Saturday 20th April on BBC Two & BBC Two HD, with added coverage on the red button, online and via the BBC Sport App, from the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.

Hazel Irvine presents live coverage of every day of the tournament, and new for this year she will be joined by the well-established BBC Sports presenter Jason Mohammad. Comprehensive analysis of every ball potted and every cue chalked is provided by guests including snooker legends Steve Davis, John Parrott, Stephen Hendry, Ken Doherty, Terry Griffiths, Dennis Taylor, Willie Thorne and John Virgo.

BBC Two & BBC Two HD will be the broadcaster of live snooker throughout the championship, which runs from 20th April to the 6th May, apart from Saturday afternoon play, which will be shown on BBC One and BBC One HD.

There will also be daily highlights shows up until the final, and a round-up of all the match play with Snooker: World Championships Extra up until the semi-finals of the tournament. Matches are also available on the red button, and people can keep up-to-date throughout the day watching all our programmes via the BBC Sport App, available on mobiles and tablets, or via Connected TV. The BBC Sport website will also provide all the scores, schedules and latest news from The Crucible.

Jason Mohammad has previously presented coverage of Six Nations Rugby for BBC One, as well as numerous big events for BBC Wales, including the Ryder Cup and numerous FA Cup finals, and the career-defining fight between Joe Calzaghe and Bernard Hopkins in Las Vegas.
