EyeSpy: Remembering Jeanne Cooper

Young-and-Restless-large-2

American actress Jeanne Cooper has died aged 84, here we celebrate her work with an iconic moment from soap opera The Young and the Restless.

Described as a huge soap opera star she played Katherine Chancellor in The Young and the Restless since 1973, joining the show a few months after its launch. Her last major work for the show was promoting its 40th anniversary earlier this year.

In American television history some of her plots became groundbreaking including lesbian flings, four husbands and a struggle with alcoholism.

We celebrate her legacy with this 1998 edition of The Young and the Restless where her character of Katherine was embroiled in a bitter feud with character Jill Abbott Fenmore (née Foster; formerly Reynolds, Chancellor, Thurston, Brooks, Sterling, and Atkinson)… played by forth actress in the role Jess Walton. Jill appeared in episode one of the series, but its this cat fight that has become a key moment to the soaps fans.
