Last week we asked you who you wanted to have killed villainous Archie Mitchell in EastEnders after the live episode revealed the real culprit was Stacey Branning. So after a week of voting we finally have the results and there’s one clear winner!

Peggy Mitchell

BBCYes folks with a whopping 52% of the vote Peggy Mitchell, the wronged wife of Archie, was your favourite would be killer. Right from the start Peggy had a clear lead over the other candidates and it didn’t let up across the week – in fact it got bigger! Its easy to see why you wanted the killer to be Peggy; after all Archie did scheme with Janine to evict the Mitchell’s from their beloved Queen Vic. Also Peggy instructed Phil to “kill” Archie in the wake of the Danielle revelations so it seems Peggy was the ideal candidate to have done away with her husband.

Tracy the barmaid

In second place – was surprisingly – was Tracy the barmaid! Well they do say it’s always the quiet ones you have to watch and Tracy was dubbed the “silent assassin”. As with Peggy, Tracy was in second place right from the word go and across the week she too stayed in that position and was comfortably ahead of her rivals. The result for Tracey was 15% of the vote.

Ronnie

BBCIn third place was Ronnie Mitchell – daughter of Archie. It’s not hard to see why Ronnie would be high on the suspect list for Archie’s murder. Ronnie and Archie have never got along and Ronnie has never hidden her intense dislike of her father. On top of that Ronnie never forgave Archie for lying to her about the supposed death of her child and keeping away Danielle from her when she came searching for Ronnie. Nearly 9% of you wanted Ronnie to be revealed as Archie’s killer.

Janine

Let’s face it; Janine has previous. Remember how Janine married Barry Evans just for his money and BBCsoon after he died. Did Janine push Barry to his death or did he fall? That’s debatable but either way Barry died. To punish Janine for her dastardly deed Pat framed Janine for the death of Laura Beale and just recently Peggy tried to frame Janine for Archie’s death. The devious, cunning and manipulative Janine joined forces with Archie to evict the Mitchell’s from the pub but Archie then betrayed Janine and revealed he’d been using her. Janine is more than capable of murder and 7% of you thought it should have been her.

Just in the top five spot was the actual killer herself; Stacey. It seems 5% of you could quite BBCunderstand why Stacey would want to kill Archie and seemingly were happy with the revelation that it was the newly wed that pushed the Queen Vic bust on top of Archie. As for the rest of the poll well 3% of you didn’t care who killed Archie, 2% of you wanted it to be Dirty Den – his ghost maybe? A third resurrection Den would push creditability to the limit! – 1% wanted it to be Archie himself while less than 1% of you wanted it to be either Bradley, Roxy, Phil or Ian.

This week’s poll – in case you hadn’t noticed – is on which Sci Fi series you’d most like to see resurrected ala Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica and V.
