The acting newcomer has taken on the role of Mel and Steve Owen’s son, Hunter.
Mother and son: Mel will have company when she returns to Walford in the new year
“I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be on such an iconic show as EastEnders. It still feels really surreal that this has happened. It’s an exciting time for me and I can’t wait to get stuck in and for everyone to meet Hunter.”- Charlie Winter
Show bosses recently announced that actress Tamzin Outhwaite has reprised her role as Melanie Owen, who’ll be back in Walford early next year.
Viewers last saw Mel nearly sixteen years ago; fleeing Walford in April 2002 when after the death of her husband Steve (Martin Kemp), it emerged that he had been forging her signature, implicating her in his dodgy dealings.
It was known then that Mel was having Steve’s baby, however viewers never found out whether she had given birth to a son or daughter off-screen but when she returns to Walford in the New Year her son, Hunter, will not be far behind.
“Charming and charismatic, Hunter has his father’s good traits but will he share his dark side too?” – BBC
Starring in the BBC One soap will be Charlie’s first acting job.
