As word of an underlying fault with the factory roof gets out, one grieving family is left wanting answers.
Wayne assures Roy the boat fire wasn’t the cause of the roof collapse. He offers his assistance with Roy’s mother’s ring, later reporting back that he thinks it originates from Egypt. Brian suggests it may have been brought back by a serviceman stationed out there.
Meanwhile, Sarah implores Gary to speak up about what he knows about the collapse. Later, Gary’s unnerved to find the gate to the builder’s yard unlocked.
Elsewhere, Michelle praises Ali’s life-saving efforts, spurring him on to go back to work as a doctor. Robert turns up at the bistro and is evasive about where he has been for the past few days.

Meanwhile, Charity offers Vanessa assurances about Mike – it’s purely professional. But Vanessa’s nose is put out of joint when Charity agrees to accompany Mike to an awards do.
Elsewhere, Kim turns up at Butler’s and makes another attempt to buy the farm; Jacob and Maya enjoy some alone time.

Damon is worried about Maxine, but she reassures him that she’s fine. Later, Yazz is doing a vlog report with Brody and Damon, in which Brody confesses their plans to move to America one day. Maxine is listening, and is gutted that Damon may leave.
Damon reassures Maxine that what she overheard doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to be with her, but she is unconvinced. Later, Liberty catches Maxine looking faint, but Maxine begs her not to say anything to Damon.
Elsewhere, Courtney is back and Jesse is delighted.

Karen and Rob are still looking after Mikey Taylor-Wood, and Karen confides in Emma that the little boy is proving something of a handful. Emma wonders whether he might have ADHD, or dyspraxia. With a waiting time of several months to see a specialist, Karen wonders if Emma could do an assessment. Emma balks at the idea and refuses to be swayed by Karen.
Meanwhile, Ayesha and Valerie discover that they have bought the same handbag. When a mix-up occurs, the pair can’t resist going through the others’ personal effects.
