Pick of the Plots: Monday May 6th

The latest goings on in River City, Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks.

SoapWeek: River City

Rocked by last week’s revelation, Lou goes off the books investigating Lydia’s death. Elsewhere, someone is on guard when Barry re-enters Ruby’s life and AJ struggles with the prospect of fostering.

River City, Monday at 10pm on BBC Scotland, repeated Tuesday at 8pm on BBC One Scotland.


SoapWeek: Corrie

Mary is incensed to see Freda showing an estate agent into no.3. Mary’s paranoia increases when Tracy suggests that maybe Freda has done away with Norris. Mary dashes to no.3 where she is horrified to find the urn, as she runs out of the house hysterical with Freda running after her a car pulls up and out gets Norris. Norris reveals to a stunned Mary that he and Freda are engaged and he wants a divorce so that he can marry her. Suspicious of Freda’s motives, Mary refuses to grant the divorce.

Meanwhile, Geoff persuades Tim to cancel coming for dinner and prepares a romantic meal for him and Yasmeen. He’s angry when Alya is also there and she leaves feeling like she is not wanted. Yasmeen’s disappointed and Geoff loses his temper, accusing her of doing everything she can to avoid spending time alone with him. Later, Yasmeen apologises to Geoff however when she passes comment on his dumplings, his hackles are raised once more.

Elsewhere, Dev finds Tim helping himself at the kebab shop as Gemma puts her feet up; Bethany secures Ryan a DJ gig however he lacks the confidence to go for it.

Coronation Street, Monday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: EastEnders

Ben faces the consequences of recent events and desperately tries to make things up to Phil and Lola. After overhearing a tense conversation between Stuart and Rainie, Ben sabotages a sale at the car lot before offering Rainie his services to fix the broken car. However, Rainie has the measure of Ben leading to a tense confrontation between the pair. Later, Ben calls in a favour and has the cars on the Branning’s forecourt stolen.

Meanwhile, Rainie spots Stuart and Bex together, unaware they’re returning from an NA meeting, and as they hug, she secretly takes a photo of them.

Elsewhere, as the Atkins family move into no.1, Karen meddles and attempts to sell some of Kim’s old belongings. Feeling hurt, Kim comes to blows with Karen and Chantelle is embarrassed when Gray and the children witness the commotion.

Also, Billy tells Lola that he saw Habiba and Adam kissing, Lola hatches a plan to befriend Habiba. Shirley has a surprise for Tina’s birthday – Mick’s back.

EastEnders, Monday at 8pm on BBC One.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

Ellis is determined to get justice over the stabbing. 

Meanwhile, Moira realises something is wrong with Victoria.

Elsewhere, Rhona has some explaining to do.

SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Whilst Damon and Brody are setting up the Love Boat for their big client, Maxine storms over and confronts Damon for lying about his promise to take time off. Damon and Brody reveal they have named a cocktail after her, and all proceeds go to her. However, they become suspicious when a banner falls on Maxine who instinctively catches it with her ‘bad’ arm. Later, Maxine retrieves Jack’s heart medication from the bin…

Meanwhile, Kyle tells Nancy the whole truth and she calls him a coward and a liar. She meets with Colin who tells her Kyle will be gone by the time she gets home. Later, however, Nancy finds that Kyle has stuck around and he promises to sort things out.

Elsewhere, Leela is furious when she realises that Ste didn’t delete the meme he made; she finds Amir on Facebook and takes down his contact details. James buys Harry a car to show him how grateful he is, but Romeo gets the wrong idea and thinks the car is for him.

Hollyoaks, Monday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.
