Pick of the Plots: Friday 13th September

The latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

SoapWeek: Corrie

Sinead asks Beth to tell people her sad news. Chesney’s devastated but when he tries to offer some words of comfort Sinead makes it clear she doesn’t want his sympathy.

Meanwhile, Ali goes to see Dr Gaddas for a diazepam prescription but seeing through him, she doesn’t oblige. After also failing to pocket some of Carla’s anxiety pills, Ali heads home empty handed where he starts sweating and shaking. Later, Ryan finds Ali having a seizure and calls for an ambulance, with Ali turning the paramedics away when he comes round. Ali admits to Ryan that he’s addicted to diazepam, and Ryan turns to Robert for help.

Elsewhere, Chesney is curious at how Bernie is funding a shopping trip with Gemma and he soon finds out about the positive pregnancy test scam. Gemma is furious with her mum. Things get worse when Bernie is accused of shoplifting, but Bernie’s luck’s in when she recognises the security guard as her old flame, Kel.

Also, Kate asks Sophie if she’d like to go travelling with her, but Sophie decides not to. Kate finds out who her mystery benefactor is and confronts them. An old school friend, Michelle, contacts Kevin online wanting to meet up.

SoapWeek: EastEnders

Ian doesn’t know how to help his son, but when Max offers some advice, Ian shoots him down. Things get worse for Ian when Max tells him he’s agreed to let Bobby stay with him.

Despite initial doubts, Chantelle makes it to the final two in the hairdressing competition, but when Gray messages her constantly, she forfeits her place. Chantelle arrives home to a furious Gray – she’s late for their romantic meal.

Meanwhile, Jean comes round following her op. She couldn’t be happier when Kat gets Stacey on the phone. However, Jean’s mood is brought down when Daniel tells her that his cancer has spread.

Elsewhere, Bianca, Sonia and Robbie fondly reminisce about old times.

EastEnders, Friday at 8.30pm on BBC One.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

Moira and Nate are struggling to find time alone without being disturbed. It looks like Moira is beginning to get cold feet about the affair.

Meanwhile, Charity dreads what’s to come.

SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Nancy is furious when Brooke reveals that Ollie has dumped her and confronts him. However, it becomes painfully clear that Ollie knew nothing of Brooke being pregnant. Everyone realises what Juliet has done but while they’re all arguing, Brooke struggles to cope and retreats onto the jetty with her hands over her ears. It’s up to Mercedes to make everyone shut up and think about what this is doing to Brooke.

Meanwhile, Liam spots Mercedes coming out of the hospital with Nana. He goes to see if she is okay, but Mercedes is overcome with emotion and runs into the bathroom, struggling to deal with the consequences of her actions.

Elsewhere, Misbah lies to Auntie Kameela that Sinead and Sami are engaged to explain why they’re living together. Kameela surprises the family by asking Sami’s half-brother, Azim to plan the engagement party and wedding, prompting his arrival in Hollyoaks. Sinead and Sami agree to get engaged for real.

Also, Jonny and Stuart are in the throes of planning something big. 

Hollyoaks, Friday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.


Doctors Pick of the Plots logo

Zara’s mood sours when she finds out that Daniel is planning to take Becky away for the weekend to a boutique hotel that she really wanted to go to. Emma tries to distract her by telling her about her latest dream about Rob. It backfires when Zara accuses her of fancying Rob. Zara comes back from lunch with a plastic policeman’s helmet for Emma and spotting it, Karen wants in on the joke.

Meanwhile, Becky is delighted with Daniel’s spontaneous weekend plans although Karen’s warning about getting caught up in Zara and Daniel’s games isn’t far from her mind.

Elsewhere, Al and Jimmi have a difference of opinion on Josh’s case and it makes Jimmi and Ruhma more resolved than ever to support Theresa and Phil as they fight to save their son.

Doctors, Friday at 1.45pm on BBC One.
