Pick of the Plots: Monday 23rd September

The latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

SoapWeek: Corrie

Sick of being messed around by Ryan, Gary dolls out a beating before warning Derek that he’ll get the same treatment if he doesn’t stay away from Izzy. Adam’s private detective observes the row from his car, while scrolling through photos on his phone of Gary beating up Ryan.

Meanwhile, Michael reveals to James he overheard his conversation with Bethany last night.  James opens up to Michael about his secret gay life with his friends in London. Michael’s shocked to discover that Aggie has known the truth for years and Aggie declares that, since Michael’s found out, it’s not fair to keep Ed in the dark. 

Elsewhere, Audrey looks after Max in the salon for the day. Max overhears her telling Bethany she wouldn’t blame Shona for packing her bags and leaving. Cathy’s annoyed when Audrey messes up the dye for her hair but Audrey realises that Max was actually responsible. Later, Shona takes Max to see David but finds she can’t bring herself to tell him the truth. 

Also, Fiz sets up a meeting to discuss Hope’s appeal. Dev’s confused when Asha isn’t interested in auditioning for the school musical, saying she has no desire to get up on stage.  

Coronation Street, Monday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: EastEnders

Mel enlists Lisa’s help in getting Keanu’s phone and setting a trap for Sharon. When Sharon realises Mel knows the truth, she warns her off but is later horrified to discover Mel has her paternity test results. As Sharon pleads with Mel to keep her secret, Mel blackmails Sharon and tells her she has one day to convince Louise to move back in with Lisa.

It’s Keegan’s birthday and Tiffany tries to get him alone but to no avail. Gray’s gift of a laptop puts Mitch’s nose out of joint and a bitchy comment from Louise creates further tension. Later, Tiffany finally manages to get Keegan alone and explains what has been going on.

Meanwhile, Louise is less than impressed to see Ben is well and truly back in the Mitchell fold when Phil trusts him with overseeing a job Shirley is doing. Fed up of his attitude, Louise puts Ben in his place and later warns him to stay away from her.

Elsewhere, Stuart seeks Ian’s help in preparing a meal for his and Rainie’s six week anniversary and turns to Callum when he won’t give it. Despite suffering from withdrawal symptoms, Rainie is touched by Stuart’s efforts. Ted and Patrick are both nervous about meeting Sheree’s mum, Wanda.

EastEnders, Monday at 8pm on BBC One.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

Kim warns Jamie off riding Blaze, but he ignores her. Jamie loses control of the animal, leaving the other horses spooked. In the ensuing chaos, Millie is knocked down.

Later, as they wait for the doctor’s verdict, Kim assures Jamie that he isn’t to blame for the accident. Meanwhile, Graham demands answers from a worried Andrea, after she reveals Millie’s date of birth.

Elsewhere, Faith rejects Bear’s advances. He reveals the truth about her kiss with Zak and Belle overhears.

Emmerdale, Monday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Stuart confiscates Ste’s phone warning him that he needs to earn their trust again. However, he later surprises him with a new moped and the money to insure it. Ste stashes the cash and calls Jed on the sly to tell him he’s not giving up.

Meanwhile, Maxine tells Damon that she only has a few weeks left to live and tries to get James to waive his legal fees. However, James refuses and Damon decides to sell his half of The Loveboat. Sienna is furious when she finds out about Maxine’s latest lie and refuses to help her anymore. However, when Liberty suggests loaning Maxine and Damon money from their surrogacy savings, Sienna is forced to agree. Maxine panics when James asks to see her medical records.

Elsewhere, Yasmine doesn’t want to go home because she doesn’t feel safe so Misbah asks Leela if they can move in with her. James scuppers a date Marnie has set up for him but he later decides to give the dating app a try.

Hollyoaks, Monday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Loved up Becky and Daniel arrive at work but quickly step apart when Zara arrives. They are not quite sure how she’ll react but are surprised when she greets them warmly and heads off smiling.

Becky catches up with Ayesha and confesses that she is really falling for Daniel and is pretty sure he feels the same way about her. Ayesha then updates Becky on her nurse prescriber course; with a pointed look at Sid, she announces it is going well despite her sceptics.

Later, Daniel learns Emma and Zara have secured a double date with two firefighters through a dating website. Daniel gives the impression he is fine with it but is he hiding how he really feels?
