Fiona Allen to guest star in EastEnders

Fiona Allen will guest star in EastEnders this winter.

Allen will appear in the Beeb soap in the role of Michaela Turnbull, who arrives in Walford on a mission to find her son, Leo (Tom Wells).

Michaela’s arrival spells trouble for Leo, who has successfully hidden his true identity and hoodwinked Whitney (Shona McGarty) into thinking he’s the perfect boyfriend. Viewers know that Leo is also the son of paedophile Tony King (Chris Coghill), who sexually abused Whitney between the ages of 12 and 16.

Tony’s sickening crime saw him imprisoned for 13 years in 2009 and it was later revealed that he had committed suicide in prison. Leo, however, is certain that his father was innocent and has sinisterly ingratiated himself with his victim over the past few months.

It doesn’t take long for Michaela to track Leo down but how will he react to seeing his mum and how far is he willing to go to protect who he really is?

Fiona is best known for starring in award winning comedy Smack the Pony. Her other credits include Coronation Street, Dalziel and Pascoe and Waterloo Road.

“I really enjoyed being part of EastEnders and was made to feel really welcome by everyone. My character is strong and down to earth, a tough cookie who doesn’t give up easily in life no matter what is thrown at her!” – Fiona Allen

Fiona has filmed her scenes with the episodes airing later this winter.
