ITV celebrate Saturday Night Takeaway ‘final’ ratings

The show hosted by Ant and Dec drew in viewers to the ‘last ever show (for now)’…

Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway final peaked with an, impressive for 2024, 5.3m viewers last night, bringing the twentieth series to a close with one almighty two-hour extravaganza.

This contributed to ITV1/STV having the biggest share of viewing across any channel yesterday. The final episode averaged 4.6m viewers with a 34% share of viewing, up on last year’s final which averaged 4.3m and a 33% share.

“For 16-34s it achieved a whopping 50% share and 563k viewers. It comfortably won its slot and was in fact the highest rated show across the entire day on any channel.”ITV

The figures above are TV overnight ratings and do not include catch-up viewing or streaming which will be added after 28 days and are sure to see the show perform even better in ‘catch up’. The entertainment series which follows in the footsteps of shows such as Noel’s House Party bowed out in style with the programme taking over the whole of TV Centre with its biggest live show in the history of the format.

Ant & Dec got their comeuppance in part two of Get Out Of Me Ear: The Revenge, there was also a super-sized Singalong and the decider of Ant vs Dec hosted by Stephen Mulhern, which saw Dec take the crown. A special montage of SNT’s best bits from the past 20 series was screened and an End of the Show Show saw Ant and Dec performing a special version of ‘It’s All About You’ before going into a farewell medley of songs alongside  a host of star names.
