Remembering the true meaning of Easter, in the age where for many it’s just about chocolate bunnies, eggs and chicks.

Led by the Rev Laura Verrall-Kelly, the traditional service features beautiful choral music and much-loved congregational hymns, including Jesus Christ Is Risen Today. The church choir is directed by Joe Cryan, and Canon Dan Tyndall gives the sermon.
It’s followed by Urbi et Orbi, live from Rome at 11am. On the 12th Easter of his pontificate, the Pope’s Easter message and blessing is delivered live to the city and to the world. Petroc Trelawny sets the scene.

Stacey Soloman’s Renovation Rescue
|
Stacey Solomon rescues homeowners who’ve been left high and dry by their builders, costing them their hard-earned cash and leaving them in chaos.
Stacey shares her infectious enthusiasm for DIY and her clever money-saving design tips, helping families salvage their half-built home without breaking the bank. Stacey also upscales her own building skills, mastering everything from plumbing to micro-cementing, and puts all this building knowledge into practice at her own family home, Pickle Cottage. Erick and Caroline’s 1980s bungalow extension in Enfield has left them seriously out of pocket and downhearted.
They had a vision of a ‘Japandi’ – a Japanese/Scandinavian-inspired open-plan kitchen, dining and living area and a colourful bedroom. But it’s in jeopardy after they lost tens of thousands of pounds on building work that had to be re-done, leaving them facing a massive overspend. Stacey’s determined to help them realise their dream, by showing them how to tackle jobs themselves to help them save money.
Stacey also makes a start on her own DIY project, building a wall in her garage to separate her home gym from her husband Joe’s fishing gear. Then she helps Erick and Caroline get to grips with plumbing, floor-fitting and laying decking. And she also brings them beautiful, achievable DIY design ideas including a stunning oak-panelled room divider and a striking colour-blocking paint scheme for their bedroom. Will Erick and Caroline finally get the forever home they deserve?

The Cancellation of Kenny Everett
|
5 last week looked at Benny Hill and a forthcoming episode looks at Fawlty Towers, but Sunday night it’s all about Cuddly Ken.
Kenny Everett, never afraid to tell the world what he really thought, had a career chequered with controversy. In 1970 he was fired from his job at the BBC for making an accusatory comment about a government minister’s wife and received backlash for his vocal support of Margaret Thatcher and the conservative party.
This programme follows the life and laughter of Kenny Everett; a pioneering comedian, unafraid to venture into rebellious or controversial subject matter.
Speaking to those who knew him throughout his career, we explore his struggle with his own identity. Kenny was never afraid to ruffle feathers, though many praised him for his candour and unfiltered attitudes. We hear from both sides, hearing from those offended by some of his comedy as well as those who loved him. And don’t worry, this documentary is done in the best possible taste…
