Bookies eye Max Branning ‘Enders return

While following a recent rant about the BBC One soap by Danny Dyer his chance of return has slipped in the odds…

The comings and goings in EastEnders never cease – and the next few months will be no different. Lacey Turner, who plays Stacey Slater in the BBC One soap, recently confirmed she is departing the show later this year – to have a “rest”. Her exit looks set to coincide with the return of Stacey’s former lover Max Branning.

The character is now a short price to head back to Walford, after actor Jake Wood was linked with a return. Gambling.com’s Entertainment expert, James Leyfield has been monitoring the situation in EastEnders and has created a market on which character could return in 2025.

Max Branning is just 1/2 to make a Walford comeback at some point in 2025, but he might not be the only returning character to coincide with Stacey’s exit plot. Following Lacey’s departure confirmation, Stacey’s brother Sean Slater (Rob Kazinsky) has been cut to Evens, from 11/8, to be back in EastEnders.

However, one character who doesn’t look quite as likely to return to Walford this year is Danny Dyer’s alter-ego Mick Carter. Having called a couple of ex-cast members rather unfortunate names, and suggested the show was a place of mental torture to work Danny has drifted to 16/1, from 3/1, to reprise his role as Mick.

Programme Name: EastEnders – Portraits 2020 – TX: 20/08/2020 – Episode: EastEnders – Stacey Slater (No. n/a) – Picture Shows: Stacey Slater (LACEY TURNER) – (C) BBC – Photographer: Jack Barnes

It’s 12/1 for Lola Pearce to return from beyond the grave at some point. Former Walford character Clare Bates, who was played by Gemma Bissix in the 90s and again in 2008, is just 3/1 to make an Albert Square return as she’s soon to reappear in Hollyoaks.

What’s more, Preeya Kalidas is 9/1 to reprise her role as Amira Masood, who she portrayed from 2009 to 2012. Could Archie Mitchell return as part of a figment of Stacey’s imagination amid her exit storyline? It’s 20/1 to happen.
