Teresa Palmer and Jim Sturgess drama ‘Mix Tape’ to air on BBC Two

The BBC has acquired new drama Mix Tape, for BBC iPlayer and BBC Two…

The four-part series follows Daniel and Alison, moving between their teenage romance in 1989 Sheffield and the modern-day reality of their adult relationships living on opposite sides of the world. The pair reconnect through a song from their shared past and explore their burning curiosity to understand if this is the love, and the life, they were meant to have.

Mix Tape stars Teresa Palmer as Alison and Jim Sturgess as Daniel, with Florence Hunt and newcomer Rory Walton-Smith as their younger selves.

Adapted by screenwriter Jo Spain from the critically acclaimed novel by Jane Sanderson, Mix Tape (4×60’) was winner of the SXSW 2025 TV Spotlight Audience Award. It was filmed on location in Dublin and Sydney, and was acquired by the BBC from Boat Rocker.

Sue Deeks, Head of BBC Programme Acquisition:
