BBC give a peek into Jimmy McGovern’s Unforgivable

The drama is set and filmed in Liverpool…

This fictional story centres around the Mitchell family who are dealing with the devastating aftermath of an act of abuse perpetrated by a member of their own family. The episodes examine the extensive ripple effect of abuse from multiple perspectives and how those involved can try to move forwards in the midst of the devastation.

The Beeb has released first-look pictures for Unforgivable, an original drama from screenwriter Jimmy McGovern which explores the impact of grooming and sexual abuse on one family. Directed by Julia Ford, the drama is made by LA Productions.

The first-look photography shows Anna Friel as Anna, Bobby Schofield as Joe, Anna Maxwell Martin as Katherine, BAFTA-winner David Threlfall as Brian and Austin Haynes as Tom. Further cast includes Mark Womack, Paddy Rowan, Phina Oruche and Fin McParland making his television debut.

Unforgivable will air this year on BBC iPlayer and BBC Two.
