Lime Pictures have announced that Darren Jefferies is to reprise his role as Sam “O.B” O’Brien in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks.
The character, who was last seen in July 2008, will reappear in Hollyoaks village from mid November to get to the bottom of the disappearance of the Osborne family which he’ll team up with Cindy and Grace to do.
“It’s an absolute pleasure to bring O.B back to Hollyoaks village. If anyone can get to the bottom of where the Osbornes are it’s him.” – Darren Jeffries
O.B first appeared in Hollyoaks village in 1997 and is fondly remembered for the double act he was a part of with former character, Max Cunningham (Matt Littler). Their ‘bromance’ won Best Onscreen Partnership at the British Soap Awards in 2008.
One of O.B’s notable storylines saw him at war with Max’s murderous wife, Claire Devine (Gemma Bissix). He saved Max from being killed by her in a lakeside showdown. He also had a relationship with Summer Shaw – played by West End star, Summer Strallen – which prompted a cameo from Andrew Lloyd Webber when Summer was cast in The Sound of Music in a special cross-over episode
“I still can’t believe it’s been over eight years since I left the show, it feels like I’ve never been away.” – Darren Jeffries
Lime Pictures, who produce Hollyoaks, note O.B will be back on screens week commencing 14th November.
