EastEnders’ Sam Mitchell will be pregnant when she returns to the soap later this year.
Danniella Westbrook first reprised the role of Sam Mitchell last summer
Our ATV Elstree insiders confirmed on Friday the hospital birth scenes have already been shot and the only question for the residents of Albert Square is ‘who is the daddy?’
The Daily Star decided to let slip the news of the pregnancy far earlier than EastEnders would have liked, but that’s the cut throat world of media. The paper state that scenes to be shown later this year will show the youngest child of Peggy Mitchell claim the newborn is Ricky Butcher’s, however it isn’t long before viewers are left unsure of who really is the father.
It could, it’s claimed, be the result of a romp with Jack Branning – who is to marry Sam’s cousin Ronnie later in 2010.
An Elstree insider told ATV “The hospital scenes have been shot. It is definitely happening, Sam is going to give birth.”
Sam Mitchell was locked away for her part in the murder of former Queen Vic landlord Dirty Den (the second time) earlier this year. She departed Albert Square disowning her family and friends. Speculation recently surrounded Sam’s return to whether it could be to do with the demise of her mother Peggy – Barbara Windsor in the soap – who is to leave the BBC production after nearly 17 years.
Some believe that the queen bee of the Queen Victoria could die in a car accident, be burned to a cinder in a fire when the boozer burns down – or gets a happy ending when she sails off on the QM2, sorry they’re not going that far in recycling old ATV scripts just yet – or gets a happy ending when she leaves Albert Square behind with Sam, the new Mitchell baby and her wigs in the back of a black cab.
