Pick of the Plots: Thursday January 5th

SoapWorld takes a look at the goings on in EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors this Thursday.

It’s all hands on deck at the Vic ahead of the Twelfth Night celebrations, but Shirley questions if they’re holding them on the correct day. Babe is undeterred by Shirley’s lack of optimism and informs the Carters that they will be performing a scene from Twelfth Night with a twist.

Denise and Patrick meet with a social worker to discuss her plans to put her baby up for adoption. Denise confesses that she doesn’t want to spend any time with the baby after it’s born, leaving Patrick stunned. Denise later expands on her wish to Patrick. Meanwhile, Vincent returns to the Square leaving Kim on holiday.

Elsewhere, one resident struggles to hold it together.

Kerry has a turn whilst out walking with Kyle, who finds his way back to the café and Cain and Zak. Concluding that Kerry must have passed out drunk, Zak admits the truth to Cain about Kerry’s fire-starting antics. Meanwhile, a worried Dan heads off in search of Kerry, who is now on the verge of hypothermia. Later, Kerry is found, but can she make some progress with Dan?

Chas gets wind of a cuddle between Robert and Rebecca. When Aaron finds out, he wants to confront Rebecca. Later, as a dressed up Robert prepares to surprise Aaron, Chrissie drips poison in Aaron’s ear; that Robert will cheat on him too. Robert is excited as he gives Aaron his surprise and assures him he’s with him because he loves him. Will it go well for them both?

Elsewhere, Chrissie’s upset Lachlan has been beaten up at the Young Offenders Institution and assures him he’ll want for nothing when he comes home – but is all as it seems? Following last night Rhona has doubts about her relationship. Frank finds some common ground with Pollard, while Megan is smitten with Frank.

Emmerdale, Thursday at 7pm and 8pm on ITV, STV and UTV.

Warren comes round and races into the burning garage, desperately looking for Joel. Freddie and Warren drag Joel from the blaze but there’s no sign of life. When he wakes up at the hospital, Joel tells Warren about Sienna’s revenge plot.

Ellie accepts Freddie’s offer to move into his flat. She goes home to collect her belongings but Marnie reveals a heart-breaking secret, which stops Ellie in her tracks.

Elsewhere, Myra finds the stolen money from Jude’s scam. Jesse offers Goldie a job as salon receptionist when she spins him a sob story about needing money for her sons. They go for a few drinks and he walks her home, but DS Armstrong is waiting for them at the McQueen’s.

Hollyoaks, Thursday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Doctors is off air for its annual festive break.
