Pick of the Plots: Wednesday April 5th

SoapWorld takes a look at the latest goings on in Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors this Wednesday.

SoapWeek: Corrie

Simon’s gutted when Peter lies that he dropped his phone in a puddle and had to chuck it away but he’s mollified when Peter gives him money to buy a new one. As he’s reconnected by his provider, Simon accesses his missed messages, including an incriminating voicemail from his dad on the night of Ken’s attack. Meanwhile Mackinnon intercepts Peter and Daniel at the hospital and explains that Ken’s refusing to see any members of his family.

Sinead’s dismayed when a concerned Beth reveals how she was drunkenly wishing Ken dead last night. Mackinnon takes Daniel to one side to ask him about his mum. When Mackinnon states that he lied convincingly for six years to cover Denise’s absence, Daniel realises she’s insinuating that he bumped off Denise then targeted Ken.

Elsewhere, Tracy confronts Adam with Ken’s will and points out that the lion’s share goes to him, Peter and Daniel while she’s been cut out completely. Adam’s confused as it’s a different version to the one he witnessed. Rita’s not happy when she gives Freddie £1 for the fruit machine and he wins the jackpot.

Coronation Street, Wednesday at 7.30pm on ITV, UTV and STV.

SoapWeek: Emmerdale

When Vanessa confronts Pierce about hanging on to the sex tape, he immediately denies the accusations. Determined to prove his deceit, and ignoring Paddy’s attempts to deter her, Vanessa is hell bent on finding the video to prove it still exists. But she makes a monumental mistake when she’s flustered to hear Pierce approach.

Rebecca flirts with Ross but when Robert shows up at the pub, she feels uncomfortable. Victoria notices the atmosphere between them and confronts Robert. He bluffs, saying he’s stitched Rebecca up over a business deal, but later asks Rebecca to stay away.

Elsewhere, Bernice joins Gabby on a visit to Ashley for moral support; Debbie worries about Faith’s party plans for Sarah and Aaron.

Emmerdale, Wednesday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.

SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Ryan is angry that DS Armstrong has framed Zack as Leela’s stalker. Zack is eventually released from the police station and Ryan tells Armstrong to take time off work. Later, Ryan lies to Leela that they’ve caught the man who was stalking her. Leela apologises to Zack and they end up kissing but Armstrong is still watching her.

Maxine is on her own hoping that Minnie’s operation is a success. Meanwhile, Darcy persuades Adam to take her out for a posh meal as a thank you for helping at the salon. Grace bumps into Maxine at the hospital and notes how upset she is about Minnie. Darcy seethes when Neeta tells Adam face to face about Minnie’s operation and he races straight to the hospital. Later, Adam tells Darcy that he wants to be with Maxine, but Darcy reveals that he’s got a son.

Elsewhere, Liam convinces Grace to let him look after Curtis but he’s working with Kim to kidnap him. Esther is suspicious of what they’re up to. Kim has second thoughts and calls off the plan while Esther finds a video that she made warning herself not to trust Kim. Also tonight, Myra continues to manipulate Sally and tries to turn her against Neeta.

Hollyoaks, Wednesday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.
