Pick of the Plots: Friday April 21st

SoapWorld takes a look at the latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors this Friday.

SoapWeek: Corrie

To the shock of his family Adam is arrested for the attempted murder of Ken. The police interview Adam, revealing they have found his fingerprints on the kitchen worktops which were only fitted the night of Ken’s assault. Meanwhile, when Amy reveals to Tracy her role in Adam’s arrest, Tracy starts to secretly worry that Amy might be covering her own tracks! 

As a scantily clad Bethany makes Nathan’s breakfast he takes a photo and sends it to his mate Neil who texts back making his intentions clear. Meanwhile Sarah rails at David for allowing Bethany to stop at Nathan’s. When she then finds out Bethany is bunking off again, Sarah storms into the tanning salon and drags an embarrassed Bethany home. Later, Nathan launches a charm offensive with Sarah – but can he win her round? 

Peter meets with his solicitor and talks through his dealings with Chloe. When he admits, he may have led her on and they once shared a kiss how will Toyah react? Elsewhere, Freddie tries to make amends with Rita before leaving the street; Jenny asks Kate if she’ll be a bridesmaid at her and Johnny’s wedding, but Kate has reservations about the wedding

Coronation Street, Friday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, UTV and STV.


SoapWeek: EastEnders

The Carters’ financial woes continue when they reach their overdraft limit and are unable to replenish The Vic’s stock.

Meanwhile, in an effort to repair Louise and Bex’s friendship, Michelle and Sharon get the girls together at the allotment. As Louise apologises once more for her recent behaviour – will Bex relent?

Elsewhere, a nervous Lauren attends her job interview; Donna spends her first night in her new home playing drinking games with Abi, Ben and Jay.

EastEnders, Friday at 8pm on BBC One. Repeated at 10pm on UKTV channel ‘W’.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

As Lachlan continues to be distant, a worried Chrissie gives Leyla a cash incentive to include Lachlan in a business deal, but how will Lachlan react if the truth of his mother’s meddling comes out?

Rakesh tries to dissuade Jai from worrying about Nell while elsewhere, Adam and Victoria are still reeling from their recent news.

Also, Rhona’s distraught as her relationship faces a new crisis.

Emmerdale, Friday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Ellie is devastated when DC Hammond tells her that there isn’t enough evidence to prosecute. Meanwhile, Nick is horrified by the surprise party that Holly’s thrown for him and Leela is worried when scorned Tegan announces she wants to go. Nick’s mood improves when his solicitor calls and tells him that the charges have been dropped. Elsewhere, Ellie blames Lisa and Freddie for helping Nick get away with raping her. Later, Freddie gets into a fracas with Nick by the hot tub – punching him into he water. Holly witnesses the incident and calls the cops, while Freddie makes a run for it – has he killed Nick?

Sienna and Warren overhear Neeta calling a plumber about a leak in her ceiling at the flat. Warren scares off the plumber and offers to fix the leak himself. He solves the problem, but seeing Bart again gets to Warren and he tells Sienna that they have to get rid of the body now, even if it means getting caught.

Also, Yasmine and Peri are in possession of Neeta’s tablet, but it’s Hunter who’s caught red handed with the stolen property – thanks to Peri – when Louis initiates a bag search.

Hollyoaks, Friday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Mrs Tembe is thrilled to receive an email from St Phil’s setting a date for her presentation on her hospital food plan. She leaves for work and soon after, a bedraggled man appears at the patio doors. It is JJ’s friend Burt who is wanted by the police. JJ admits he sold some canisters but had no idea what they would be used for. He is clearly frightened of the man he sold them to. JJ has to nip out but tells Burt to sit tight. Meanwhile Mrs Tembe decides to come home for lunch, discovering Burt wearing only a towel! When JJ returns, Mrs Tembe gives him an ultimatum.

Meanwhile, Ayesha confides in Emma that she is worried Karl won’t be well enough to return to the army next week. Emma suggests that CFS can take quite some time to recover from, if at all. Ayesha is still reluctant to accept this diagnosis so does some research of her own.

Elsewhere, Jimmi checks in to his hotel for a conference where he finds and tries to help a hungover teenager, Genny.
