Pick of the Plots: Tuesday February 12th

The latest goings on in River City, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

SoapWeek: River City

The clock ticks on Lenny’s murderous plans, but will Alex go through with it? Meanwhile, Lydia is conflicted when a secret is exposed, Ruby attempts to find her secret admirer, and Angus is determined not to spend Valentine’s Day alone.

River City, Tuesday at 8pm on BBC One Scotland.


SoapWeek: EastEnders

Jack spots Mel being taken in for questioning by the police but when he tries to find out what’s going on, Hunter is unforthcoming. At the station, a desperate Mel uses Jack as an alibi for her whereabouts on the night of the wedding but will Jack corroborate her story when the police catch him off-guard? Later, Jack demands the truth from Mel and when she obliges, he urges her to come clean to the police but Mel begs him to help her and Hunter flee the country.

Meanwhile, Shirley senses all is not well with Jean and tricks her into gate-crashing a hen party at the E20 to cheer her up. Jean joins Shirley at the E20 with baby Cherry in tow but is upset when she realises she’s been lied to. As Jean struggles to enjoy the party, she snaps at Shirley before storming off. Outside, Jean breaks down and Shirley senses there is something she is hiding.

Elsewhere, Tiffany is uncomfortable when Evie threateningly banishes one of the gang members; Kathy is taken aback when Masood suggests they move to Oz permanently; and Mitch’s efforts to cheer up Bailey end in disaster. 

EastEnders, Tuesday at 7.30pm on BBC One.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

With the support of Chas, a reluctant Paddy braces himself to head to the wrestling convention. When Marlon, Jessie, Chas and Paddy eventually arrive at the event they are disappointed to find it being run out of a working men’s club. Before long Paddy needs to get some air but as he turns a corner he bumps straight into Bear Wolf and chokes up as he tries to explain himself. Will Paddy get the answers he was hoping for?

Meanwhile, Cain explains to Moira she’s the only one he trusts anymore but Faith is determined to put an end to the family feuding. Will her efforts to unite Cain and Debbie prove successful?

Elsewhere, Doug is struggling to divide his time between Brenda and Laurel; things are still frosty between Kerry and Nicola; and Laurel confides in Nicola that she’s having money troubles, so Nicola suggests she rent out her spare room.

Emmerdale, Tuesday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Mercedes is wound up about her family, and thinks that no one has a good word to say about her. Liam shows her his vulnerable side by telling her he misses his dad. They go to the fair and afterwards, get raunchy in Liam’s car but Mercedes is horrified to find a gun in the drawer. The police turn up after receiving a report of public indecency, but Mercedes manages to hide the gun.

Meanwhile, Sylver finds Max and Bobby not in school, and Bobby asks Sylver whether he could retrieve his homework from The Dog, as he’s scared of Liam. Sylver picks up the homework whilst Mercedes and Liam are there, and sees Liam’s gun in his bag. He flips and goes to kick Liam out, a fight ensues and the gun goes off…

Elsewhere, Laurie overhears Sinead telling Tony that Laurie can never know about ‘it’ (Tony and Sinead’s affair); Goldie realises that Joel didn’t return the stolen money; and Cleo has an embarrassing encounter with Mitchell at the hospital.

Hollyoaks, Tuesday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

It’s Becky’s first day and Zara arrives to the partners meeting late, riling Daniel. Mrs Tembe takes Becky round to meet everyone, Karen is wary of the new arrival but Al and Jimmi are impressed.

Later, Al is surprised when Catrin turns up at the Icon to discuss LARP, and they go over his new scenario. Catrin asks him out but he says he is seeing someone. Jimmi can’t understand why he said that so Al explains that they have an epistolary relationship, which Jimmi thinks is absurd. Al calls Catrin and changes his answer, and they agree to go out on Thursday…Valentine’s Day.

Meanwhile, Zara tells Daniel she had to see Joe’s head teacher this morning, he has been accused of bullying. As they begin to argue, Becky walks in on them and an awkward moment ensues.
