Pick of the Plots: Monday February 25th

The latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

SoapWeek: Corrie

Billy offers to accompany Shona to her ex’s funeral. Once there, it soon becomes evident to Shona that something is afoot as Macca and Clayton exchange conspiratorial glances. Shona is shocked when Macca and one of the undertakers attack the prison guard. Billy wrestles Macca to the ground but Clayton gets away. Later, David is horrified to discover Clayton has done a runner and worried about the kids’ safety, agrees to move in with Nick. David’s relieved when Shona returns home safe, however his concern turns to fury when Shona expresses concern for her son.

Meanwhile, Roy urges Carla to tell Abi the truth. However they’re interrupted by Shona who reveals that the police are downstairs wanting to question Carla. Carla is stunned when Gary says the factory roof is not safe, the job will cost £60k and he needs half the money upfront for materials and that the factory will be closed for several weeks. Later, Roy tells Carla he’d like her to find somewhere else to live. Carla’s deeply hurt.

Elsewhere, Gina decides to go and stay with a friend in Newcastle after being branded a thief by Sally; Steve tells Tracy and Amy he has upped the offer on the place on Victoria Street, gazumping Claudia; Amy squirms as Steve talks about finding out the sex of the baby; and Daniel’s struggling to juggle his MA, job at the bistro and busy homelife.

Coronation Street, Monday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: EastEnders

It’s the day of the promo event at Walford East but Iqra has a bee in her bonnet about Ruby uploading a picture of her to social media. As the event commences, Jay confides in Stacey that the police have been looking for Ruby. Jay is left disappointed when he can barely get a look-in with Ruby as she schmoozes a potential client, Lewis. However when Lewis tries to make a move on Ruby, she orders him to leave causing a scene. Ruby’s day gets even worse when the police arrive to speak to her.

Meanwhile, Habiba reassures Iqra that the picture of her isn’t a big deal and encourages her to go back to the party where Iqra catches the eye of Kush after spilling drinks all over him. As the sisters revel in the success of the event, they are shocked to learn from Kathy that she is their manager after Masood sold his share.

Elsewhere, Rainie reels from her night with a man she met in The Vic, Lewis. Jean probes Sonia about her mum’s cancer diagnosis and ditches unhealthy food from the Slater house; and Mick plays truce maker.

EastEnders, Monday at 8pm on BBC One.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

When Cain is less than complimentary about her parenting, Debbie loses it and slaps him. With Cain refusing to leave the village, Debbie warns a stunned Kerry to keep him out of Kyle’s life.

Meanwhile, Liv attempts to make plans for Jacob’s 16th birthday but is put out by his lack of interest. She talks the matter over with Gabby.

Emmerdale, Monday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Cindy is released without charge, but Mac has filed a restraining order against her. Romeo organizes an intervention for Juliet in the hope of convincing her that Mac is evil. Jack tells her about the school explosion but she’s in denial. However, when Mac can’t produce a receipt for the down-payment on a holiday he’d promised her, she doesn’t know what to think.

Later, a drunken Mac leaves Juliet a voicemail confessing to lying about the holiday, swapping Cindy’s medication and swindling her out of her house. Cindy and James listen to the voicemail and don’t tell Juliet about it. James turns up at Mac’s house, telling him that the police are on their way…

Meanwhile, Breda panics when Sylver looks at a photo album full of pictures from his childhood, hoping to find his birth mother. Goldie spies Breda hiding a picture from Sylver, and manages to swipe it. It’s of a woman and her baby boy, with a name on the front. Later, Breda realizes the photo has gone, and she receives a text saying ‘I know what you did to Louis Loveday’.

Also, Maxine moves into her new flat, Damon uses fairy lights and donated furniture to make it nice for her; Lily warns Romeo to keep his distance, and Sinead tells Diane about Lily’s self-harming.

Hollyoaks, Monday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Al has become the target of online abuse, and Becky gets involved when patients start calling in refusing to see him. Becky suggests that Al put up an apology on the practice website, but his huffy response leads her to seek Zara and Daniel’s advice. Zara can’t be arsed getting involved, noting that Becky is paid to handle such matters. Later, Al gets a call from Grognor who tells him that he’s been booted out of the LARP group. Things go from bad to worse for Al when Catrin deals a devastating blow to their relationship…

Meanwhile, DCI Joyce Ordega is heading up the new Task Force and briefs Rob and the rest of the team about their new case. It is a reinvestigation into the murder of Grant Hill which took place in 2007. His wife Charlotte was convicted of his murder but she has recently had her conviction quashed due to a cross-contamination issue at the lab which handled the forensics.

As part of the reinvestigation, Joyce has invited Charlotte in to give her side of events and asks Rob to carry out the interview. Joyce hands Rob all the case files and tells him that Addison was part of the original investigating team. Charlotte answers all his questions with no hint that she is telling anything other than the truth.
