Pick of the Plots: Monday April 15th

The latest goings on in River City, Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

SoapWeek: River City

A desperate Alex vows to clear his name, Dougie looks to capitalise at the casino night, and AJ and Ellie organise a final night of romance before the foster child arrives.

River City, Monday at 10pm on BBC Scotland, repeated Tuesday at 8pm on BBC One Scotland.


SoapWeek: Corrie

As Wayne ponders his report in the café, he’s approached by Imran with the news that Carla has done a runner. After being momentarily distracted, Wayne discovers Imran trying to snoop into the report, and Nick steps in to diffuse the situation. Later, Wayne confronts Imran after discovering his car has been broken into and the report has gone. Imran protests his innocence but the police haul him in for questioning. When questioned about Nick’s involvement, Imran becomes suspicious and wonders if he could be implicated in Wayne’s report.

Meanwhile, Peter is exhausted after a sleepless night and a fruitless search for Carla. Peter calls in at the Rovers to tell Carla’s family what’s going on, but Kate is scathing. Soon, Johnny, Michelle, and an apologetic Kate turn up at No.1 and assure Peter that they’ll help him track down Carla as they’re as worried as he is. Later, Kate is overcome with emotion when a police officer hands her a bag containing Rana’s personal effects.

Elsewhere, after a wasted day trying to flog loans, Gary reports back to Rick who suggests he might be better suited to debt collection. Bethany’s intrigued by what Gary’s up to and tells Sarah that she saw him wearing a shirt and tie earlier.

Also, Sally implores Tim to start taking his condition seriously.

Coronation Street, Monday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: EastEnders

After reminding Lola of why she agreed to help him in the first place, Ben invites everyone over for a family brunch. Ben is thrilled when Phil tells him that they can move forward with their plan but his enthusiasm is soon dampened by Jay and Keanu’s presence, particularly so when Phil tells him that he’ll be working with Keanu. Later, after Ben interrupts a close moment between them, Jay and Lola sneak off to the Vic. As Jay lays his heart on the line, Lola tries to open up to him, but Ben arrives and drops a bombshell.

Meanwhile, Mel calls Jack with the news that a brick has been through her window. Jack invites her over to his but Rainie gets suspicious and quizzes Mel while Jack is out. Later, unable to repair the window, Jack insists on staying at Mel’s.

Elsewhere, after confiding in him her second thoughts about Uni, Bex is horrified to discover Martin has taken shifts at the chippy to help pay her fees. Stacey is given food for thought when Shirley tells her that Jean’s main wish is to see Sean again. Mitch, Bailey, Keegan and Chantelle find Dinah in a worrying situation.

EastEnders, Monday at 8pm on BBC One.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

Harriet becomes increasingly terrified by the sinister prank calls she is receiving. When Bob hears Dawn on the phone in the Woolpack corridor, he starts to think she may be behind it.

Bob later heads to Woodbine to share his theory with Harriet and a furious Dawn, who says she’s moving out.

Elsewhere, Jacob is driven to desperate measures; Robert offers encouragement to Aaron.

Emmerdale, Monday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Darren is at the hospital with Mandy for her final check up when Juliet texts him asking to meet. Shortly after he leaves, Mandy experiences a sharp pain. Darren meets with Juliet, but before she can confess her love to him, Darren gets a call from Tom to say that Mandy is in labour.

Back at the hospital, Darren is being supportive to Mandy, but Juliet is still demanding his attention. In anger, Juliet blurts out in front of Ollie, Tom, Jack, Darren and Mandy that Darren doesn’t love Mandy, but loves her instead. Soon, Mandy gives birth to a baby boy.

Elsewhere, Tony cancels the Easter fete while Sally delivers Lily’s exam results to him and Diane. Sylver tasks Prince with carving something special for Lily’s gravestone as a distraction from his grief.

Hollyoaks, Monday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Valerie is discussing the Vere’s party and how well she got along with Sid’s mother Estelle.

Meanwhile, Al overhears Sid on the phone to his mother about his impending date with Gabrielle. After meeting his mother Al is starting to understand why Sid is like he is. Al suggests maybe he should start living his life his own way. Later, Sid rejects a call from his mother and feels guilty.

Also, Ayesha tells Valerie she is thinking of ‘flying the nest’ and moving out.

Doctors, Monday at 1.45pm on BBC One.
