Pick of the Plots: Monday January 28th

The latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

SoapWeek: Corrie

Steve assures Amy that if she wants to cancel her termination and look at other options, he’ll be there for her. Despite her reservations, Tracy agrees that only Amy can decide the baby’s future. Later, Steve tells Tracy that he’s had an idea which might be the best option for all concerned. How will Amy react when Steve and Tracy suggest they raise the baby?

Meanwhile, as she gets ready for her holiday, Evelyn detects that Tyrone has got a bee in his bonnet. Tyrone reveals that James told him she abandoned him as a baby not his mum. Realising she has little choice, Evelyn tells Tyrone the whole sorry story of his birth, how his mother Cassie was a drug addict and she left him by a police station thinking it was the kindest thing to do. Revealing how sorry she is, Evelyn insists she never stopped thinking about him and wants to be a part of his life. Hurt and upset how will Tyrone respond?

Elsewhere, Seb explains to Gary that it’s the twins’ adoption hearing tomorrow but without a full time job he’s little chance of success. On Sarah’s advice, and to make amends, Adam offers to represent Seb for free. Sarah offers Gary’s services to Nick and David for the barber shop refit and Abi’s chuffed when Peter offers her a job working on his boat.

Coronation Street, Monday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, STV and UTV.

SoapWeek: EastEnders

As Mel and Hunter return home, Mel resolves to rid the house of Ray’s belongings whilst Hunter is relieved to find that the gun is where he left it. Meanwhile, after passing her theory test, Louise thanks Keanu with a picture of them on social media but fearing Sharon will see it, he pleads with her to take it down.

With Louise miffed, Keanu seeks advise from Bex who suggests throwing a surprise party to congratulate her. As Keanu pursues the idea, he ends up lashing out at an antagonistic Hunter, whose response leaves Bex feeling unnerved. When the altercation gets back to Mel, she is also left feeling concerned. Later, Louise is touched that Keanu organised her surprise party but as they kiss Sharon comes through the door.

Meanwhile, Stacey encourages Jay to invite Ruby on a date, but Billy advises caution after everything that he and Ruby have been through. Despite Billy’s advice, Jay pushes on but suggests they meet as friends instead, knocking Ruby’s confidence. After some moral support from Stacey, Ruby meets at Walford East but they get a shock when Billy crashes the date with Shirley in tow, bringing an early end to the evening.

Elsewhere, Mick prepares for his coaching assessment and as he and Linda get flirty, Shirley kills the moment – the pump has broken. Mitch steps in to help and challenges Mick to a drink off but as they drunkenly mess around, Mick ends up doing his back in; much to Linda’s annoyance.

EastEnders, Monday at 8pm on BBC One.

SoapWeek: Emmerdale

There’s tension at Tall trees as Ellis goads Billy. Unable to control his anger, Billy punches him and shocked Marlon throws Billy out. Regretting what he’s done, vulnerable Ellis is in turmoil as Robert convinces him to get rid of Billy.

As a result of Robert’s manipulation, the police arrive to arrest Billy for assault and Jessie is dismayed to see Ellis has no remorse for what he’s done.

Elsewhere, Debbie admits to Faith she told Charity everything about Cain and Joe.

Emmerdale, Monday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.

SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Sienna is mortified after thinking Laurie asked her out on a date. To prove she can be trusted, Laurie sets her the task of making paper Mache masks for the Ofsted inspection. Whilst helping, Brody freezes after seeing an article about Busters trial. Later, Sienna wakes up to find a sleepwalking Brody destroying all the masks.

Meanwhile, Terry tells the police it was Ste who attacked him so DS Yates brings him in for questioning. Jonny gives them CCTV footage proving that Ste is innocent.

Elsewhere, Yazz and Alfie prepare to tell their families about America. Romeo overhears Alfie rehearsing his speech and mistakes it for a manic episode. Nancy admits she misses Darren, so Kyle installs a dating app on her phone, without her permission.

Hollyoaks, Monday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Mrs Tembe arrives at the church and meets Gordon, ready to do her talk to the congregation, but she admits that she’s a little nervous. Gordon addresses the congregation with a speech about selfishness, and how he’s ashamed that he felt angry when he didn’t get what he wanted recently. Gordon introduces Mrs Tembe who, after a shaky start, is able to speak confidently about her new calling to the church.

Meanwhile, Al, Ayesha and Valerie are ready for their first LARP session, although a hungover Ayesha has made minimal effort with her cloak and trainers. Valerie and Al get into character and charge into battle, as Ayesha looks on, unimpressed. Before long, Ayesha gets into the spirit of things.
