There’s a flurry of activity outside of The Mill after Valerie’s ‘love letters’ to Grant Hill were leaked to the press. Becky and Daniel decide it would be best if Valerie went home and didn’t come back to work until things have calmed down. But then Rob turns up to take Valerie in for questioning.

At the police station, Valerie is thrown to see Magda – her nemesis from the PCT back in 2007. In the interview room, Valerie is mortified as Rob reads out her letters. The declaration of love and belief that she and Grant should be together at any cost is pretty damning. Valerie is in floods of tears as she insists she didn’t kill Grant.

Back at the Mill, Sid discovers his new patient is Grant’s widow Charlotte, they can’t reject her as the press would have a field day. Later, Becky asks Karen to cancel her cruise in light of what is going on but Karen refuses to budge.
