Pick of the Plots: Friday 18th October

The latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

SoapWeek: Corrie

David is worried when Shona tells him about Max staying with Marion who is after custody of her grandson. His day goes from bad to worse when he goes to the medical wing to get his medication and finds Josh awaiting treatment. Abe reveals that Josh is inside for drugging and raping someone and David admits that he did exactly the same to him. Back on the street, Sarah is horrified to discover that Marion has been seeking legal advice from Adam.

Meanwhile, Gemma is displeased to see a photo of her stuck in the turnstile has made the front page of the Gazette. She meets a PR agent in the Rovers who offers to help her monetise the press interest. Gemma is interested but suddenly starts to get stomach pains. At the hospital Gemma is told she needs gets lots of rest. Bernie insists they don’t need Rosa and offers to look after Gemma’s PR herself.

Elsewhere, Sinead admits to Beth that even the simplest of tasks are getting harder. Kirk consults Beth, Craig, Adam and Tracy and they plan to celebrate Christmas early.

Also, Bethany produces a short story for her writing course. James realises that it’s about her own experiences and her love for Daniel. Alya is annoyed when Geoff explains that Zeedan has agreed to sell his half of the business.

SoapWeek: EastEnders

Sonia is alarmed to see Martin’s injuries, which he insists on not having checked out at the hospital. With Sonia becoming increasingly agitated about him not putting their daughter first, Martin pleads for her forgiveness.

Meanwhile, Leo surprises Whitney at E20 where he defends Tiffany’s actions. Leo suggests they go back to his, but Whitney clocks Callum and Ben and insists they stay. Whitney gets drunk and confesses to Leo that she is jealous of Tiffany. Soon, Callum checks Whitney is okay and the pair have an emotional chat. Later, Whitney bumps into Stuart and the pair have a heartfelt conversation.

Elsewhere, Stuart pays Kathy a visit in the café. He threatens to hurt Ian and Ben but as they talk, he opens up to her about how he and Rainie are always judged.

Also, Iqra vents to Ruby about Ash being reluctant to introduce her to her family; Mitch reassures Karen about Keegan and later when Gray sees Karen down in the dumps, he suggests they throw a party to celebrate Chantelle’s pregnancy.

EastEnders, Friday at 8.30pm on BBC One.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

Wendy turns up and is desperate to see Victoria.

Meanwhile, Graham arranges to take Rhona out to dinner.

Elsewhere, Faith still has her convictions; Chas and Paddy stay strong.

SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Brody hides Cindy behind the bar at The Loveboat when Sienna turns up. He agrees to go to the scan, but when Sienna returns to tell him what time it is, she catches Cindy giving him a kiss on the cheek. Sienna returns home and begins packing a bag, but it soon emerges that nothing actually happened between Cindy and Brody. Later, Sienna and Brody arrive at the hospital. They see Liberty coming out – she’s had the scan but they couldn’t find a heartbeat.

Meanwhile, Goldie overhears Joel shout Liam’s name in his sleep and questions why he’s protecting him. She confronts Liam at The Loft. Back at the McQueen’s, Joel warns Mercedes to keep Goldie safe, or he’ll blab to everyone about what she did. Mercedes goes to see Liam but he tells her that he just wants to get on with her life. However, Liam has a plan for Mercedes…

Elsewhere, Kyle urges James not to give up on his family; Ollie puts on a brave face about the adoption.

Hollyoaks, Friday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.


Doctors Pick of the Plots logo

Rob makes breakfast for Imogen, and broaches the subject of letting Karen in on her health fears. Imogen refuses. Later, Imogen meets a consultant, who explains what is going to happen, a manual examination and an ultrasound. They’ll be able to give her the results extremely quickly.

As Imogen waits for the results, the pressure gets the better of her. She leaves and goes back to the mural. Later Imogen gets a call from the consultant, and she rushes off. When Sid calls her, she is crying in the toilets…

Meanwhile, Valerie, Karen and Emma get a shock when they find The Icon closed. 

Doctors, Friday at 1.45pm on BBC One.
