John Partridge reprising Christian Clarke role for EastEnders anniversary

EastEnders, Christian

John Partridge is returning to EastEnders for the show’s 30th anniversary.

The actor and singer will reprise his role of Christian Clarke in a storyline that will see Christian’s sister Jane (Laurie Brett) remarry Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt).

“I am honoured to be returning to EastEnders at this most exciting time to celebrate 30 years of the show, and more importantly to find out who killed Lucy!” – Partridge

Partridge originally appeared in EastEnders between 2008 and 2012, with his character featuring in a high-profile plot that saw him fall for his Muslim neighbour Syed Masood.

The actor made a two-episode return to the soap last year for Lucy Beale’s funeral. Viewers will finally discover who killed Lucy in the anniversary plots

“How could Jane get married to Ian (again) without her brother there? Johnny Partridge and Christian Clarke are loved by the audience and his EastEnders family, and we are all thrilled to have him back for our anniversary. And we’ll be putting Johnny’s extensive theatre experience to good use, as he is plunged into EastEnders’ live week.” – Executive producer, Dominic Treadwell-Collins

Barbara Windsor and Jo Joyner are also reprising their roles as Peggy Mitchell and Tanya Cross for the anniversary, while Richard Blackwood is set to make his debut as a new villainous character.

EastEnders 30th anniversary live week commences Monday 16th February; a full 30 minute live episode will transmit with the rest of the week’s episodes containing ‘live elements’.
