Pick of the Plots: Monday 22nd July

The latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, and Hollyoaks.

SoapWeek: Corrie

Gary lets himself in to Rick’s house, helps himself to one of Rick’s jackets and starts to smear it with anti-vandal paint. Sharon catches him in the act, is this the end for Gary? Toyah and Imran reconcile with Nick and Leanne. 

Meanwhile, Mary helps Roy clean the café but they are interrupted by an angry Larry, convinced Roy is behind a smear campaign about him that Evelyn has started. Later, Roy’s mystified when Ed tells him that a friend who wishes to remain anonymous has paid the deposit so that he can start work on the wiring in the café. He confides in Evelyn and Tyrone notices an underlying fondness between the pair.

Elsewhere, Sophie invites Paula to stay the night at no.13 after she reveals that her house has been burgled a second time; Chesney isn’t happy about Gemma working at the shop; Maria gives Ali short shrift after another date from hell; and Kevin has a surprise for Jack – a new blade so he can run again. 

Coronation Street, Monday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: EastEnders

Phil gives Ben a hard time about his behaviour, and later tries to get him to open up. Ben is touched when Phil gives him an old boxing trophy as a gift, but his happiness is short-lived when he later interrupts a meeting between his dad and Shirley.

Meanwhile, it’s Bobby’s birthday and Kathy and Ian are keen to celebrate. Their interest is piqued when Bobby receives a gift from a friend, but Bobby quickly leaves. After reading a card Ben storms off, throwing it in the bin. Later at Bobby’s party, Ian is concerned by Bobby’s distracted behaviour.

Elsewhere, Stuart hatches a plan that could benefit Jack; Tiffany is convinced she’s doing the right thing in going back to Milton Keynes; Martin and Kush set a trap to reconcile Kat and Stacey but it doesn’t go to plan; and the Taylors ponder some ‘important news’ that Karen has to tell the family.

EastEnders, Monday at 8pm on BBC One.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

Nate encourages Amy to seek custody of Kyle and after witnessing another cold exchange between Moira and Cain, Amy begins to see he is right in his thinking.

Meanwhile, Jai is determined to persuade Laurel to go public with their relationship.

Elsewhere, Harriet confides in Laurel about recent events. Jimmy is reluctant to help with a plan.

Emmerdale, Monday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Harry wakes up on a bench after being drugged by James yesterday while Tony and Sadie have put his no show at court down to him doing a runner. James tells Harry the truth, coldly telling him there is no way he will be found innocent now and he should leave.

Harry says his goodbyes to his new-born son and Sadie; Tony washes his hands of Harry, while Breda watches on with anger. Meanwhile, Liam is celebrating at The Dog after discovering Harry didn’t turn up at court. Mercedes and Liam end up passionately kissing; will Sylver find them?

Elsewhere, Sienna meets with the au pair, Nina to return her phone, but she steals their passports. Sienna tells the twins that on Maxine’s wedding day, she’s going to take them back.

Hollyoaks, Monday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.
