Coronation Street businessman Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) has been revealed as the person behind Tina McIntyre’s (Michelle Keegan) untimely demise.

Rob’s identity as Tina’s killer was confirmed during a dramatic instalment of the ITV soap which aired at 9.00pm this evening. Viewers watched as Rob grappled with Tina on the balcony of the builder’s yard, after she threatened to expose his dodgy business dealings with Tony Stewart (Terence Maynard) to the police.

Tina was also threatening to spill the beans to Rob’s sister Carla (Alison King) about her affair with her husband Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne), unaware that Peter had already decided to confess to his extramarital activities.

With Tina refusing to keep quiet, Rob pushed her in the heat of the moment, sending her flying over the balcony and on to the cobbles below. In upcoming scenes Tina is rushed to hospital where she will eventually lose her fight for life on 2nd June.

Rob was one of four official suspects in the ‘Who Kills Tina’ storyline – alongside Carla, Peter and Tracy. However, Tracy was ruled out prior to tonight’s episode transmitting via a quiz on the show’s official website. The quiz entitled ‘Can you eliminate a suspect?’ asked players to answer a series of questions and a score of 100% led to Tracy being eliminated from the official suspects.

Coronation Street continues tomorrow at 9.00pm on ITV
